When the mob is activated, it usually just wants someone's head! But, yes, yes, we are RIV owners after all so we will be sure to target to correct executive. I'm trying to think of a way to make it RIV themed - maybe we threaten to throw gourmet coffee, signature cookies, and croque monsieurs if they don't life the resale restrictions.

I'll definitely join in on the mob...unless of course this scenario would mean that my resale RIV points would now work at all other resorts lol.

I got the survey this morning! Very curious as to how this plays out. I like some options, definitely not a fan of others.

I think the autobanking will help a lot of the less savvy people. I can see the expanded waitlist helping a lot of people as well. I like having the 24 OTU points at 11 months. I also like last minute deals. We do sometimes make a last minute trip to OKW and getting that even cheaper would be nice. But I wonder if everyone will have the same idea and suddenly OKW will be tough to book!

Totally agree - if they would focus on the people that use DVC contracts as a rental business, availability would increase. Esp the blatant rule violators who basically scalp guaranteed reservations on holiday weeks or the “I have 3000 points for rent at all resorts” people.

Agree that I would be generally for most added perks that don't come at the detriment of other owners.

But I also agree that focusing on wide-scale renting seems like it should be a priority over this stuff.

Exactly, like is it really wise to implement high points priority booking when commercial renting is a huge problem.

Arent big fish commerical renters the ones with thousands of points that would get priority if priority for more points were to be a thing?

And if we have all these tech issues now, adding more, new layers to the website just sounds like a nightmare. It seems like im seeing the 7 dwarves more than ever lately.

DVC has made me hate the 7 dwarves. It seems like theyre just caring about more sales and not us if they implement these things.

User experience is important to people considering adding more points. Sometimes I get really frustrated with this whole process I wish they'd send me the survey so I could give them a piece lol

Depends. If it is considered part of the direct benefits then for early bookings as part of a membership extras program they could require that the lead guest be (and stay) a direct member on the contract in order to use an early booked reservation.

Are the cabins the first ones to be put into this trust and the only ones so far?

Based on what you know (your personal opinion) would you buy a property that you really liked that falls into this trust?

Personally, I would buy at the CFW only with a fixed week. The Trust documents explicitly state that they can reallocate points across different units and unit types. Not saying they will, but they could add LSL to the trust with very expensive A-frames and when those book slowly, reallocate increasing the cabins point cost. There is nothing protecting you from this happening, like at other resorts.
Without a fixed week, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

I agree, the a frames are going to be a lot of points. Being able to reallocate that into other room types is crazy

There is no commercial renting and I’ll thank you to never speak of it again.

I don't want auto banking unless it comes with a way that you opt IN to have it done. I personally do not want MS making any decisions for me in terms of what and how to use my points.

In terms of transfers, it has always been one in and out since 2008, which was put that way in part to deal with commerical situations.....and I personally feel that going back to it for all owners makes sense.

Since we are not privy to what happens with owners and accounts, we have no idea how well the one transfer in/out rule is having an impact on the actions of owners who relied on it a lot.

Not to side track, but remember, some of the things that people see in the rental market happening have not ever been identified as part of DVC's definition of what actions consitutute renting to the degree that you are not considered out of bounds in relation to your right to rent.

So, we are still seeing things happening that frustrate people, but there is no way to know the impact of the enforcement of the contract's transfer rules on owners actions....because only DVC has that infomation.

We do know that reports seem to be pretty consistent that owners are not being given excpetions to the one transfer in/out rule...

Would I want them to possibly get rid of the banking deadline and just automatically bank any remaining normal (non-banked, non-borrowed, non-holding) points at the end of a use year? Sure I would be okay with that

I was stupid and just had assumed that this was what was being discussed, and agree that would be a good thing, until Sandi commented - now I realize it could be more complicated than that.
