We're trying to decide where to stay when we visit WDW. The more I read the more unsure/confused I get :) The only advantage I see of renting points for a studio is that we'd get a microwave and the bedding would be 1Q and a sleeper which would be better than the mod 2 dbls (of course the deluxe has two queens.........) I don't know what exactly is available but we're leaning towards Beach Club, Saratoga Springs, or Boardwalk I think if we try to rent points - or POR or CSR or don't know what deluxe. We do have CSR on hold thru AAA at the moment. We've done a rough price comparison between dxe using AP rate and adding tickets, vs. moderate AP rate or package, vs. renting points and adding tickets. It seems they're all within a couple hundred dollars of each other. Price, comfort, and convenience are the priorities. Thanks for listening to my rambling!

Hi Sherry,

A deluxe resort will always offer more comfort & convenience than a moderate resort.
Back when I could get CM discounts on resort rooms, we tried every value, moderate & most of the deluxes & to us, there was just no comparison between moderates & deluxes......We became very spoiled.

Ultimately, we ended up renting DVC points on several occasions & fell in love with the BWV & the whole concept of DVC. We loved the locations of the DVC resorts and ultimately became members.......

Anyway....If I were in your shoes, I either give renting points a whirl or, try out the AKL or WL with an AP rate. If/when they come out, they're an incredible bargain on the standard rooms (I paid $120 a night at the AKL in a standard view room but was upgraded to a Savannah view back in January)

Just remember that if you choose to rent points, you need to be very sure of your plans because DVC ressies are a bit less flexible & forgiving than traditionally booked rooms.....

Good Luck With Your Decision! :sunny:

Right now, it would depend on when you are traveling. If it is anytime soon, getting a DVC reservation might be hard. BCV would be hard for the entire summer. BWV and BCV would be hard for October. All DVCs would be hard for December.
