DVC split stay and DDP

We're renting DVC points from a member for the first time in October. We're splitting our stay - the 1st 3 nights at AKL and the next 5 at OKW.

We intend to use the DDP, but I'm starting to get concerned about how this will work with our split stay.

I know if we were not using DVC points for this vacation and staying at two different resorts, our DDP credits for the first part of our trip would expire on our last night at our first resort, with no carry-over to the next part of the trip. Is this also the case with the DDP through DVC?

We're arriving quite late on our first night, so we won't get a chance to use our TS credit for that night. We were planning on using that unused credit by doubling up at the Hoop-De-Doo Revue, but our reservation for that dinner is after we've moved to OKW.

I'm hoping that since we're doing a full vacation at WDW, we can use one bank of DDP credits for the whole trip, but I don't know if everyone will see it that way.

I'd appreciate any advice from someone who's been through something similar, and knows how it works.

Tanks,
Cory

Agreed......all your credits will be good through midnight of the day you check out. Just make sure you keep your AKL key and use the correct one when paying for your meals, because the AKL and OKW keys will have seperate meal credits.

Sorry, I'm still not totally clear on the responses. At which checkout will our DDP credits expire (our checkout from the 1st resort, or our ultimate checkout as we head home)?

I interpreted JaxFLBear's answer "works the same way" to mean that our credits would expire at the 1st checkout, i.e. we should think of this as two separate vacations for the purpose of the DDP.

By suggesting that I hang on to my AKL key to pay for meals later in the week, the response from DisneyKidds seems to suggest that the AKL credits won't expire until our trip is over.

Please clarify, if you don't mind, and thanks for the speedy responses!

Your DDP credits will be good until midnight of the day you check out of your 1st resort. Keep that key, because you can still use those credits that day and want to use them before using your new credits on the new key.

2nd set of DDP credits will be good from the minute you check into your 2nd resort until midnight of the day you check out of that resort.

Hope that makes sense :goodvibes

You must keep your AKL key to have access to the credits associated with that AKL stay, and credits associated with that stay will be good through midnight of the day you check out of the AKL.

You can start using credits from your OKW stay the day you check into that resort (if you need to), and those credits will be good until midnight of the day you check out of OKW, and those will be on a seperate key from the AKL stay.

Two seperate reservations, two seperate plans.

If you are planning a table service meal for the day you are checking into OKW just use your "left over credit" from AKV because remember you will not really receive a credit for you last day at AKV but can use the one given to you for your 1st day which you will not be using until your last day at AKV, I hope this makes sense. So when you check into OKW you will have your "check in day credit" to use at HDDR but will not have any table service credits left for your check out day.
