Dvc Split Pop Stay

ok im looking into booking a DVC studio by renting points (CANT CHOOSE WHICH ONE!!!!) Sunday AUg 13-Friday 18th. Very cheap i realized! But we really want to stay a week its just friday and sat. are really expensive so we thought Friday the 11th and Sat the 11th we could stay at POP then transfer over.

Here are my questions
1. We planned on getting a 5 day dining plan/park hopper pass. I would up grade the hopper pass to 7 days but want to keep the dining plan the same b/ci dont think we will eat all that. I planned on having a DVC member book the dining plan. DOes that mean i cant start using it until the 13th when we check into the DVC studio? Or can i start using it right away at POP? Does it expire withen 5 days or can you spread it out?

2. If we planned on using ME can we have it bring us to POP but take us back to the airport from the DVC studio or does it all have to be the same?

3. How do we get from POP to studio? Are we responsible to move the luggaga or would Disney do it?

4. If we have to check out of POP by 11 but studio isnt available where can we store our luggage so we dont lose a whole day swithing resorts????

1. If you buy the dining plan for the 5 days you are at DVC, then they have to be used in those 5 days only.

2.I'm sure you can get ME set up whatever way you need to. Just call and tell them.

3&4.I have heard you can arrange to get you luggage sent to the other resort and they can store your things until the room is ready.

NO You would not be able to spread out the credits you would receive for the meals.

It does not have to be the same resort. You can depart from any Disney Resort Just make sure you not that on your DME reservation

3. How do we get from POP to studio? Are we responsible to move the luggaga or would Disney do it?

You would call bell services, and they will pick it up and have it waiting for you at the other resort when you arrive.

4. If we have to check out of POP by 11 but studio isnt available where can we store our luggage so we dont lose a whole day swithing resorts????

The luggage would be waiting for you at bell services.

This is how it worked for us: We split our recent vacation between SSR and BCV. ME took us to SSR and picked us up from BCV, no problems or issues at all. You know, the ME people are actually airport employees so it's really separate from Disney (the very nice young man checking our luggage at BCV on our way home explained it all to us). You'll be provided with plenty of information about ME both coming and going from the resort.

At SSR, bell services asked us to have our luggage ready by the door for our "transfer," as they call it. We happened to be in the room when they came to get it (at the 10am time we had requested), but if we had already left for the parks, they would have just taken it for us. He even took care of our cold things for us. Later, after spending the day at MK, we just took the bus to BCV. We were a little early and our room wasn't ready yet, so we just kept busy at Beaches and Cream drinking malts.

We transferred once before with no problems, but this time, SSR missed our bags. Not the end of the world, but I had to make a few phone calls to see where our things were. They made it to our room by about 8:30pm, which wouldn't have been a big deal, except we had four little ones who really needed baths and to get to bed. The SSR employee felt bad about the error and comp'd our dinner for the night. The point of this is that it might be worth it to make a phone call to your first resort to make sure your bags really did get transferred, rather than waiting until later in the day when you're starting to wonder where everything is.

I think this is a great service, and as long as we all tip well, hopefully bell services will keep doing it!

Disney will move your luggae for FREE when transferring between 2 resorts. Of course a tip to the bellperson is nice. They tell that your bags will not be available to the early afternoon in your new resort. Also, as a prvious poster had mentioned you do not have to wait for bell services to come to your room to pickup you bags you can just leave them and head off to the parks (although I always call early enough and wait for bellservices---- I know call me anal).

Once you check in at your new resort call bell services and they bring your bags up to your room. As easy as that!!!!!

I have done this bag transfer svereal times and it works like Magic!

We stay at the resorts on friday and saturdays a lot before going to our DVC resort. You will have no problems moving. Watch out renting points can get you hooked, we did and now own.
