DVC Special Event During Upcoming WDW Vacation

I received an email today for a special event for DVC members. According to the email, the event highlights are "meet and dance with some of your favorite Disney Characters," "Play along during the show with state of the art technology," "enjoy tasty refreshments," and "take home exciting event giveaways." You can also take a tour of BLT. This event is being held at the Contemporary by reservation only. When I RSVP'd the weekend dates were already gone, but they had a Thursday 9 am open, so I signed up. Has anyone else gotten a similar email, or actually gone to this "event"? They are also providing childcare.

Sounds like the promotion (sales pitch) they just had is Boston. Check out the other threads on this blog, and you can read up on it. The bottom line is they are trying to promote DVC trades, (using your points through RCI) purchasing addn'l points at BLT, and Adventures bu Disney.

It was fun to go to here in Boston, but I would not blow off a day at WDW for it. There was Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Aladin and Genie in Boston. Mickey and Minnie had a dance party for the kids after the 1 hr sales pitch. they gave away some free stuff but you can read more on the other threads.

I just reserved 6 spots on the July 21st at 3pm. It was a little vague about what all it is. Sounds like it will be a photo opp mixed with sales job. I figure if its a bad deal we walk over to MK.

We signed up for July 23 at 3:00PM. We figured it was too hot to be outside, so why not tour our new home. I did talk to my guide this week to tell her I signed up. She said she was excited as this was the first time they are doing something like this. I'm just hoping for free stuff, cause it's the only way to get DVC stuff as the stores seldom have much to purchase. We are staying at the WLV so we figured a boat ride over would be easy enough.
