DVC Show begins the conversation! Yes!

Just charge them and if the owner disputes it, you remove the charge. Not that difficult. It seems like every time I eat at the Boathouse, I get charged the no-show fee (yes, I check in when I arrive). When I call to dispute it, they don't ask for a receipt, they just remove the charge.
Remember it’s not Disney who’d be responsible for it..it’s DVC owners who have to replace them if they are taken and charges are disputed and it’d be DVC having to go after owners to recoup it..which means higher dues.

Not interested as an owner in that level of hassle. I prefer to be don’t have them.

And remember tha tit would be DVC Dues paying for the employee time to handle the dispute and refund, so probably more than some of the items are worth.

I’ve stayed in hotels with a catalog of items in the room that were for sale. They worded it perfectly, offering to sell you a new pillow, instead of that one in your room that many other people have used. But if you preferred, you were welcome to take the one in your room and they were happy to charge you for it.

I have seen those "Hotel Collections" - smart monetization approach tbh. Sadly, if Disney did it, and there would be a market for it, I am sure they would be lambasted for it being a "money grab". Although their scale across 35K+ rooms and multiple resorts would make it a nightmare to manage.

A list about what DVC needs that doesn’t have THE WEBSITE on it has completely missed the boat. The website is the basic functionality of this product, booking hotel rooms.

If we are trying to spend an extra dollar on something silly, I’d put it on the TP before the silly bedding and a mug. I actually bring my own TP and have some in my owner locker.

Yes! We do the same because the TP is so bad.

I would gladly pay more dues for quality TP than a pillow! It is just awful!

They can bring them back and charge the guest if something is missing at check out. Also selling those stuff at the store at a cheaper price than fee if stolen.
On my visit to BWV last week I opened 2 sealed extra Pillow/ blankets bags and neither one had a blanket in it. I'd be a little upset being called a thief and being charged for the blankets.

:offtopic:Wondering what you did and what the outcome was! Did you call Housekeeping and have them bring you extra blankets — and take away the infilled bags?

I just called down for blankets, and told them both bags were missing the blankets, they brought them right up. Crisis averted. :)

Same thing happened to us at BWV. Blankets were missing from bags and didn’t discover this til late at night when making the kids pull out sofa bed.

Also asked for real mugs in the Poly studio and mousekeeping brought wine glasses. LOL. We were thankful for those at least, put to good use for mimosas.
