But who wants a DVC in an existing building? Don't we all want our suites? As far as I know that would require a new building, not just remodeling. If that means tearing down something first, then do it!

I'll make an exception for the Polynesian though. I would be happy just being able to buy there/stay there for a reasonable number of points, even in the existing rooms.

The tower and the south wing of the CR are being remodeled. They aren't doing anything to the north wing yet. They are also closing the tennis facility. My guess is that they will be tearing out he north wing and the tennis facility and building the villas there, if they do decide to build at the CR

Have a great trip. My wife keeps asking why we own weeks in Aruba if we never go. She doesn't look at the big picture and forgets about all those wonderful trips we've taken and given to family, many of which have been using exchanges with our Aruba weeks.

LOL, no not really as she's had many chances to go. I am more interested than she is. She wants to go back to Paradise Village in PV MX but I doubt we'd need a room there, at least for her, as she'd likely live in the Spa. There's simply not enough time and money for all I want to do right now.

Not using the exisiting building as it, but the location of an exisiting building. DVC Contemporary is planned to be built where the North Wing is located but they will be doing a completely new building.

You know what could be a winner... build a small DVC to go with Tokyo Disneyland, one to go with Anaheim Disneyland and then build one in Hawaii. I could see that combination selling to a fresh market.

I can't really see a Hawaii DVC appealing to enough of the existing membership base for purchase purposes. I'm sure people would want to trade but purchasing is another story. Although they might do small add ons for once every three year type trips. It just seems to me that you could do a once every five year or once every ten year trip to HI for cash.

PS. On a slightly different angle I think that Disney probably could have done better with its HHI resort these days. There are new resorts going up right next door no problem. I think this was much more a marketing failure...and an ongoing marketing failure...than a failure of the market.

Aw Hawaii... Don't know if a timeshare is worth it though, unless the points are just so ridiculously low (like Vero and Hilton Head) that it makes it worth for trade value. But I guess it depends on just what type of vacationer you are.

Whether you will enjoy a time share in Hawaii depends entirely on what type of vacation person you are. If you are a sit and relax on the beach person, Hawaii is a great choice to visit. If you are a nature, athletic person or Golf Person, then Hawaii is good for you with all the golf courses and other nature type things.

Now for me, I am neither of these. I can't stay on a beach for more than an hour or so. I get WAY too bored. Even on my honeymoon at SANDALS, If I wasn't doing a tour or one of the activities then I was bored to tears. This is one of the reason I like Disney and Vegas so much... also Cancun with all the partying. For people who are liek me, Hawaii isn't a great choice. It is fun to visit once or twice, but for repeat business... probably not.

I don't think that the OP literally meant they( DVC guides) said Aloha. I think the OP used the word Aloha to mean Hawaii. I could be wrong. Bottom line... if it is Hawaii I'm adding on in a BIG way. DVC are you listening????????

Our sales guide in June mentioned Hawaii rumors as well, so I am betting that they gave him that hint as Aloha. Of course, I would be buying Poly if they sell that... MMM... MONORAIL!!!

The OP already answered this and the guides did not use the word Aloha. She used the words here to mean Hawaii. They were not talking about Poly.

Well he said she did the hula actually. Frankly, he may have completely misunderstood, although the which island question does lead one to think Hawaii... unless the DVC people thought he was joking. You can really make an argument for either case.
