Hi everyone. I'm just asking a question because I want to do the right thing. Is it ok to swim in a DVC pool if I am not staying on Disney property during my stay? I've been a DVC member since 2005 and have always stayed on property, so this hasn't come up before.
Thank you for your help...please don't judge me as I just want to know the rules.

No. To pool hop (swim at a pool not at your resort) you must be a member staying on points at a DVC resort. Exclusions apply (Stormalong Bay, AKV, etc).

Thank you very much for clearing that up for me! I wasn't sure if our membership card allowed us access to the pools or not. Now I know, only if we are staying on DVC points.

Thank you for asking. It's nice to know that some people want to know the rules first.

As mentioned, it's only for DVC members staying at a DVC resort on points, with some pools (AKV, BLT, SAB) excluded, and some black-out periods.

Unfortunately on another bbs, RCI exchangers are being encouraged to pool hop as they please, even to AKV and BLT. They don't actually discourage pool hopping to SAB, but just mention it would probably be a little difficult because of the wrist bands.

Only if we are staying on DVC points at a DVC resort. If you have points that can be used at a non-DVC Disney resort and you book said resort, you cannot pool hop.

Plus you will have to pay to park if you stay offsite unless you have a PAP or AP. Owning DVC does not give you parking rights.
