Does anyone know what the dedicated name to these rooms will be when booking? Are there any pictures of what the rooms will look like? THanks.

As announced some time ago, the combination of the cabins and redone rooms in WL will be called Copper Creek Villas and Cabins. Disney has not released any pictures or internal room configurations, and has not told us room sizes, i.e. studios, 1BRs, 2BRs,3BRs, or whether all those room sizes will even exist.

And DVC won't release room sizes or photos until they are allowed to under Florida timeshare law, which is when they declare them with Orange County.

Actually nothing under the timeshare laws prohibits Disney from telling us projected number of rooms and room sizes before the declarations are filed with Orange county. Disney usually justs waits to do so.

ok great. . Thanks. WOnder if they will be bigger than the ones at Boulder Ridge Villas
That is one of many unknowns about the new suites. While one can only guess at the dimensions of the new rooms, it's a relatively safe bet that there will be studios and 1BRs. Obviously, my belief is also mere speculation; however, given the general disdain for the lack of 1BRs at Poly, my supposition is that Disney won't make the same mistake twice. If they do, indeed, put in both studios and 1BRs, it would be simple thing to have a connecting door to allow for a 2BR configuration. Then again, I could be totally wrong. pirate:

I hope they put sleeper chairs in one bedrooms. My kids really prefer them to the drop down beds.

I was under the impression that under Florida law, a timeshare developer could not release info on the project until a certain percentage of the project was completed and sales docs were filed and approved with the State. That's why as soon as some converted rooms are ready, they get their approvals, start their declarations and pre-sales.

My guess is that the Copper Creek DVC villa sizes will be very similar to those at AKV - Jambo, which were also created from hotel rooms. Other than decor, the AKL and WL buildings are very similar - weren't they designed by the same architect?

Carol...yes the same architect (the late Peter Dominick) designed both WL and AKL.

I think there is a difference between the AKL room conversion to DVC and the WL room conversions. At AKL, the rooms were in addition to a large resort (Kidani) which would house most of the villas for AKV. Thus they were not the driving force in the sales presentations and the room configurations used for the model rooms were AKV-Kidani.

At CCV, the WL room conversions will make up the entire DVC resort villas except for the cabins. As such, I think they will be larger than the AKV-Jambo room conversions. Or possibly, they will be configured more like the BLT villas with the sleeper chairs and/or extra bathroom. I think the main difference is that Disney has established prices per point and nightly point schedules with VGF and PBV that they won't want to retreat from. Since they have gutted the walls between rooms at WL I don't think they'll be constricted the way they were at AKV-Jambo.

Of course, this is all guesswork...we'll just have to see what they do when they finally announce sales opening and the new models.

The Florida timeshare laws do not allow sales until you have a POS and file the necessary Declarations and documents related thereto with the county comptroller. They do not prohibit providing some projections about the make-up of the resort including room types and number of rooms before such filings. Disney avoids providing such information early mainly because of the risk that the finished resort could be different from the projections.

Moreover, the laws do not even prohibit filing those declarations and starting sales before the developer breaks ground to build the resort. But that does not happen because the laws do set up practicable barriers that generally cause developers like Disney to not file those declarations and not begin sales until closer to a probable opening. For example, the declarations need to have specificity as to the make up of the resort and the particular units being offered for sale initially, and if the finished resort varies in any material way from what is provided in the declarations or does not open by the projected opening date, then a purchaser would have the right to rescind any sale and get his money back. Also, if sales are begun, the resort needs to open within the first applicable use year, e.g., if sales begin with a Feb 2017 use year as the earliest use year, the sale is fine if, for example, the resort opens in June 2017, but the sale would be subject to the purchaser's right to rescind and getting his money back if the resort actually does not open until Feb 2018.
