DVC ressie with no tickets

Where is the best place to watch for 2020 tickets sales to open? Here? And do you think they will announce and give a date when the will open 2020 ticket sales or will it be "2020 tickets sales open today" sort of thing?
Soooooon 😉

I think it will be just announced...I have a few sources keeping an eye out for me and if I get any info ahead of time, I will post for sure!

But, yeah...keep an eye here...and keep an eye on the rumors board with the big thread about operations. Many times things are posted there too!

Great! I hope you get some inside scoop before they release a date!

This may be a stupid question but we have a DVC room only right now for August 2020 and we have never added park tickets to a DVC reservation ever (and been DVC since 2004). Is this as simple as just adding a four or five day to the reservation? And can it be done online or do we have to call? Thanks!

Tickets for 2020 are not available for purchase at the moment.

The fact that they have certain ticket blocks reserved for the different priority group combined with the fact that a DVC reservation, compared to Disney resort or Disney partner resort, makes me even more upset. So as I see it, someone staying off property in a partner hotel (Hilton or Marriott) in 2021 can buy a ticket (packaged with room) right now reserve early January. I predict the "tickets only reservations" for Marathon weekend will go quickly. If that happens, the ticket only spots will be gone. And those are the only spots DVC folks without tickets can get. Even though spots with resort may still be available. They have clearly given priority to folks staying in partner hotel to folks staying in DVC resorts. This is wrong and inconsistent with the sales pitch everyone of was given when we bought.

I will add, if we are not able to purchase tickets at a later date because there is "no park availability for the dates you need", then the work around of booking a throw away package to get the park reservations and cancel once you have tickets will not work. You won't be able to buy a ticket because there is no ticket availability.

Does anyone know if the November Run Disney event is cancelled? We have a reservation Oct. 31 - Nov. 7, (no tickets, ugh!) but not sure if we have to plan reservations around this when/if we can get tickets.

My DD and DSIL are also registered for the race. As of now it has not been cancelled yet. Time will tell. Fortunately for them they have AP's and a room reservations, so they have park reservations already.

Thanks. I know they are not available for 2020 yet. What I don't know is, let's say the pandemic wasn't happening, is one able to add 4 day park tickets to a DVC only room reservation? I have never done that and didn't know if that is an option to do when tickets are available. Hope that makes sense.

This is so frustrating. My DVC points expire on January 31, 2021. I had original reservations for July, but I had to change them due to my husband's job, which will now only let him go in December. We also have a child who attends school, making January out, not that you can get through to DVC anyway. I made the reservations in late May, but did not buy tickets because we had time. Also, no one encouraged me to do so. I am now without tickets, and when I called, they said I had no options, except to wait. They said if we could not get into the parks, then I could only bank my points to be used only for resorts that were NOT at Disney. What?! I bought DVC to enjoy Disney. If I wanted other areas, I would have bought points for other areas. They really should have taken priority for those with resort stays and tickets/AP and then those with just resort stays and no tickets when they assigned this reservation process. Then all others with tickets and AP. I cannot believe they never included us. I have only been with DVC now for 3 years, and I got to say that I do NOT feel the magic! I felt the magic as a regular customer staying in the resorts. When I made regular trip reservations, they would have offered tickets as a part a package, so I would have bought at once and would not be in this predicament. So tickets go on sale for 2021 on the 24th, but the rest of us are still SOL. This is infuriating.
I'm in the same boat to a degree. We made our DVC reservation by buying someone else's points. Before we really had the chance to buy our tickets they went off of sale. I feel like they are treating DVC people like second class citizens and we are just an afterthought to them.

Yes, Once you have park tickets you can link them to your DVC room reservation online or via the MDE app.

DVC is not considered a package. You just add like always. in two days, 2021 stand alone tickets go on sale. As far as we know, it will be to everyone, not just onsite guests.

2020 is yet to be announced but it appears that they have saved park spots for resort guests as the calendar is different than for AP.

DVC reservations and cash reservations fall under the same calendar.

It is frustrating but they are treating any guest without a ticket the same..not just DVC..for 2020.

But it also now appears that when they opened park reservations they may very well have held back spots for onsite guests including DVC without tickets because days are available on that calendar and not on the AP calendar.

That is what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.

There has been no announcement of them canceling the Wine & Dine Half Marathon in November yet. Although, given the other marathon events around the country that have been canceled in that timeframe, my over/under bet would be they are going to cancel soon.
