Apparently I can't see the forest for the trees today. Is there a thread that is fairly current with members posting what they have found as far as room availability? If so, could someone point me to that thread. Thanks.

Not a thread - a whole Forum. :teeth:

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the Forum Jump drop down box. Then choose DVC-Resort Reservation Availability - it's listed right after DVC - Rent/Trade.

BUT - that forum is only as good as the entries submitted. Meaning, it's pretty worthless to find out what is available and only moderately useful as to what is not available. The DIS DVC members are only a small portion of all the DVC members out there. And not all DIS DVC members post there.

This is a nice tool, but you really can't go by it. While I might not get a room one day, there is no way to know that the room didn't open the next day. It's a nice guide to let me know I "might" have problems getting a particular resort on a particular night and reminds me that I better have a back up when I call, it's not perfectly accurate. For example: I post on it regularly and when I try to make a reservation and am told it's not available, I will ask, which days are not available. So while making a reservation recently I was told Jan. 16 and 23 were not open for BWV standard studio. But the other days were, so I only posted those days (16th and 23rd). Then afterwards someone may post that they tried for Jan. 16-23, so may have assumed the entire timeframe was not available, when actually I booked Jan. 17-22 and had no problem with a check out of the 23rd and I waitlisted for the 23rd. Make sense? I'm glad it's there and is a nice tool to gauge things, but still, you should always ask.

Well said. :)

But it sure is nice to have at least an idea when MS isn't open. Why is it we always seem to do the bulk of our planning when MS is closed???

We seem to plan 24/7 and MS is open 7, but not 24. Planning helps us get through to the next trip...:surfweb:
