Hey all. I know that some of the Disney resorts have "Resort Airline Check-In" where you can check in for your flight at the resort you are staying at. Do the DVC resorts have this amenity? If not, I assume if you are leaving late on the day of departure they will let you bell check your bags.

(Of course, since I'll probably have to fly SW, this is probably moot b/c I didn't see them listed as a participating airline...but still usefull to know).

Thanks in advance. Amy

DVC resorts do offer this service, but you are correct that SW does not participate. You can get your SW boarding pass from the concierge desk, but you can not pre-check your luggage.

Is it possible to get other airline (Air Tran) boarding passes from the Concierge desk too?

i have done this once and also my niece who was with me and on a different airline has. it was beautiful and was so nice not to have to tug that luggage.:headache: luggage always makes life harder.

do you know what airlines participate? all i know is delta and united, since those are the ones we were flying with. i would like to have the option of chosing the one who is running a special price. but i would not give up disney's magical express and resort check-in for a price savings. it saves my back and the smile on my face.:thumbsup2

It is part of Magical Express. All Disney resorts have it.Only a few airlines participate in the program. I think United and Delta are a few. I know that Southwest does not.

I found this on the web;

18 April 2007: AirTran Airways joins Disney's Magical Express Resort Airline Check-In

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- AirTran Airways becomes an official participating airline for Disney's Magical Express Resort Airline Check-In Service on May 5.

With Disney's Magical Express, guests of Disney hotels check their bags at their hometown airport, bypass baggage claim at Orlando International Airport (OIA) and board state-of-the-art motor coaches to Walt Disney World Resort -- while their bags are delivered directly to their resort room -- after check-in. The complimentary round-trip service between Orlando International Airport and Disney hotels is designed to give Disney hotel guests the stress-free vacation they want.

AirTran is among a growing list of airlines that add another magical dimension to the service by enabling passengers leaving Orlando on domestic flights to check their luggage and receive a boarding pass before departing their Disney hotel, thus avoiding airport check-in lines. Participating airlines in addition to AirTran currently offering this additional service are Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Northwest Airlines and United Airlines/Ted.

We used Airtran for the first time in April and were very happy with them. We are glad they are now a return participating airline.:cool1:

Magical Express (free bus to and from airport) and Resort Airline Checkin are actually separate services. We have never used ME but have used RAC and love it. We are very happy that AirTran has been added as an airline that participates in both of these great conveniences.
