DVC reservation and upgrading DDP

So I still can't decide between the DDP and DxDDP. We rented DVC points so if we put the regular dinning plan on our reservation can we upgrade to deluxe when we get there? I just don't want to change my mind and have to bug the person we rented points from. I think you have to have if paid in full 2 days before you check in but can you not cancel it but upgrade it? I wish I could figure out what to do!!!!!

You cannot change on arrival. All dining plan additions and changes must be done no less than 48 hours prior to arrival for DVC reservations.

Can u even put dining plan on a private rental?

You can't, but the owner can. They have to arrange it for you, but you pay for it when you check in.

As of last year, the dining plan must be paid for when it is added to the reservation. It makes it a little more complicated if you are renting points as the member must make all the changes.
