We had such an amazing first stay at DW using DVC rental through a disboards member.
I have looked quite a bit on the forums and haven't seen anyone renting points in Paris.
It doesn't happen or am I just not seeing it??:guilty:

The reason is because there aren't any DVC rooms at DLP. It's possible for DVC members to use their points to stay at the upper end hotels but my understanding is that it's not very cost effective and therefore not a good use of points.

If you prefer the idea of an apartment rather than an hotel room, there's a Marriott resort close by which has town houses to rent and is served by a shuttle bus. Disney has Davy Crockett Ranch where you can rent a cabin but there's no transport provided so you'll need a car to stay there.

Are you sure that the Marriott is served by a shuttle bus? Everything I've read says that it is served by unreliable public transportation buses, not a shuttle. There used to be a shuttle between the train station and the resort but it ended in 2010.

Edited to add unless you are a DVC member and have points to burn, using DVC points at DLP is not cost effective at all.

I was staying there in May 2011 and there was a shuttle. It did not run very often, but we used it to get to the park in the mornings. On the way back we used the public bus and that worked very well. We did not find it to be unreliable at all. I really thought it was a wonderful resort and would love to stay there again. It would be perfect if you have a car, but it can be done without.

I remember driving by there and thinking it looked pretty nice but the prices seem very high to me. I remember checking the rates the last time I went to DLP and the onsite places, while not cheap, were much cheaper than the Marriott. I guess if you like to have a spacious villa it may be worth it to you.
