dvc rentals booked

Hi, I'm sorta new to this section..
I was just wondering.
I've been trying to rent/buy points for a stay at ANY DVC studio for four nights this July, and everyone I deal with, whether on these boards , ebay, myresortnetwork,...says there's no availability.....however, on the main website or aaa, it shows some.. Do they only block off a certain number of rooms for dvc rentals?

Yes, Disney retains a certain percentage of DVC properties which they book through central reservations. They also get a certain percentage of inventory from DVCer's who use their points to book non-DVC reservatioins. Those rooms are not available for points, so no renter can get them for you. You can book through Disney via any travel agency, though.

The rooms you see on AAA are different inventory. They are not available with points because they have already been used for an exchange, and Disney now has the use of those rooms outside of DVC.
