DVC rental?

A friend and I are going to the World and are planning on staying at movies, I was thinking of booking Animal Kingdom value room. My questions is if we can find points rent them and get a value room, how many are in the Jambo house? Also if we get the value is there anyway to upgrade from a value to a better view or even a one Bed room later on? Do the value rooms have two beds? I have read a lot but haven't found those answers. There are 10 2-bedroom lock-offs (1-bedroom & studio w/interior connecting door) and 8 dedicated studios in the Value category. The Values are very popular with AKV owners due to their lower point requirements. These can and often do book up at 11 months for early December which is also a very popular time for DVC members.

And no there is no way you can upgrade to a room requiring more points on arrival, being a points renter.

The only way to upgrade to a 1 BR is to have the points to do so and the member will have to make the reservation through Member Services not at the front desk.

"value" just means that the rooms are smaller. they can have a pool, parking lot or savanna view.

upgrading is out of the question. no.

all studios have 2 beds. but except for OKW, one of the beds is always a pullout sofa.

If you're talking about December 2014, I'd guess the value rooms may already be gone. The booking window for those dates opened on January 5th.

"Renting points" is a bit of a misnomer. You don't actually get any points yourself, what will happen is that a DVC member will make a reservation for you with their points. They will own the reservation; you won't be able to make any changes to it.

If you want to upgrade, that will mean that you will have to ask the member to cancel your reservation and make a new one, and pay them the additional money for the cost of the new reservation. If they're willing to do that, as they may be planning to use their remaining points for their own vacations. You can't upgrade at check-in.

So yes the values are all gone already. ugg wish I would have know about this at the beg of the month.
How many Savannah studio rooms are there in the Jamo building?

so if we stay in a savannah view room at Jambo what buildings are they in, do they have o.k. or great views, can you request what savannah you want to be on. I would want to be on the big inside one. what floors are the savannah studios on and if you know room numbers. what other info can you give me. Thanks

I was thinking about the standard view room at the K. building for a bit less but really like the Jambo building the pool, rest, is the J house nicer to stay at in the hustle bustle or is the K building better? thanks

All DVC Rooms are on the 5th floor of Jambo House, with the exception of the DVC portion of Concierge Level which are on the 6th floor. The map in the link below is of the 5th floor of Jambo House. The Values are along the Giraffe & Ostrich Trails. Most Standard Views face the Uzima Pool. There are some Standard Views that used to be classified as Savanna View, but were reclassified due to limited or less desirable view of the Savanna.
