I rented points for my brothers family and their room is having a major issue with brown stuff leaking through the floor. What is the right way to resolve this without risking getting kicked out by Disney? I’ve read some things about Disney canceling a watergates after finding out it was a rental.

Also, I’m a member myself and I’m staying in a separate hotel room on this trip, but they aren’t using my points.

Thanks,
Dan

Sorry for typo; here’s a repost

If they are staying on another members points, they will not cancel the reservation.

As for the issue, they should call maintenance and report it. They might also want to stop at the front desk (don't call the front desk as that goes to an off-site call center).

One a guest checks in, it doesn't matter any longer if they are there on a cash stay or a DVC points stay, even as a rental if there are issues such as this.

Glad to here that they were moved rooms!

To expand on this, those cancellations were likely because they were an Interval International (II) or RCI Exchange into DVC that had been rented out, which is against the rules for II, RCI & DVC.

If you ever see a DVC rental being advertised as available and they say there are fee dues to the Disney Resort, it's likely one of those exchanges.
