I see you are in the NW suburbs of Chicago. So am I and I can tell you that referral bonuses are legal in IL!

I think it's starts at $250 for first referral and goes up in $100 incriments from there. You can either get the money on a Disney Card, put money towards dues or towards buying more points. They do not send cash or check. Goes right back into their pocket!

Not legal in MN. We have gotten several nice "thank you" letters that say "sorry" on them.

Yes, it is legal in Ohio. Selected the $ 200 Disney dollar option and used them on our Disney Cruise. Ohio does have a $ 1000.00 cap though.

When did the person you referred actually purchase and close on the deal? Prior to the beginning of this year, it wasn't legal. However, from Jan. 2007, VA now allows referral bonuses.

I had referred someone in late 2006. They ended up not buying until Jan. 2007. I called my guide, who then referred me to someone in the Sharing the Magic office who had to manually go in and remove the block that was on my record due to the change in rules. I've since received the referral certificate and sent back the card that told them what bonus I wanted.

So if the person you referred bought this year, you should be eligible for the bonus. You just have to make some calls to get DVC to update the information in their records. Let me know if I can help.
