DVC Rate Annual Pass - Couple of questions

I have a couple of questions I'm wondering about...

1. What dates to they sell the DVC rate annual pass. I can see in the past they stop selling April 30th, but when do they start selling at this rate (i.e. Jan-Apr)?


2. If for some reason you buy the DVC rate annual pass, but are unable to redeem/activate it by the expiry date what happens?

If you activate it after the expiry date do they just charge you the difference to the new rate of the following year or the regular non-DVC rate, or something else?

Do you think this can be done over the phone in advance or must it be done in person?

Do you think this snag would effect your ability to book Fast passes 60 days in advance (if you are staying onsite)?

Hoping someone has been in this situation and can share their experience.

All days. You are referring to additional specials, which can come and go and are note at set times. They may not even come at all.

2. Not sure. Did not even know they had an expiration date. But I only buy them when needed. I have not bought one of the "additional specials"

3. AFAIK, You have to activate it in person and with your DVC Member card. But you can still make fast pass reservations with it, and buy it over the phone.

They had to be activated by January 31, 2015. Only someone who let that date slip past will be able to tell us. My guess, is that when it is activated it will either expire Jan 31, 2016 regardless when activated. OR you would have to pay the current cost, and those passes were PAP, and pretty pricey without the discount offer. We bought in March 2014 and activated Dec 2014. We were able to make FP+ at the 60 day mark if staying on site...if off site, not until 30 days.
