DVC question

Hi all,

First let me say, the information on these DVC thread is fantastic! My DH and I are finally considering ownership !!!! I am a true blue hardcore Disney fanatic, it's been that way my entire life. We take 2-3 trips a year and figured it might be time to take the DVC plunge!

Please forgive me if this is one of those questions that has been asked a million times over. Does anyone know anything about how often the rooms are refurbished? Does it happen when they decided the rooms need it or is it a preset number of years? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

They seldom do complete renovations with DVC resorts. Even OKW looks just the same as it did 11 years ago when we joined. They constantly paint, replace worn items, update as needed. For example, most of the older sleeper sofas have been replaced with newer types. But the fabric is still the same, so they don't look different. If the carpet gets damaged, they will replace that section. With 95% occupancy at any time, they just can't close down an entire floor or building or wing without careful planning.

Members pay for renovations with our dues. Any capital expenses also come from dues that are reserved.

So while WL may have flat screen TVs, VWL will not until they determine the funds in the account will cover the expense.
