Me too!! No 1-bedrooms will keep me from buying more points there too. I hate studios and there are only 3 in my family, so I can't do a grand villa. If I wanted to stay in a hotel style room, I would just stay at the Poly regular room. Is it a bad thing it won't have what I want to buy? Probably not. We need to curb our Disney spending anyway. Honestly, I am very disappointed I won't want to buy.
Washer/dryer AND king size bed are what makes DVC stays so much more enjoyable. Without those, DVC is not worth it to me.Honestly, the washer/dryer is MUCH more important to me than the full kitchen. Hopefully the studios will include a washer/dryer. I do like the full fridge and mircrowave, but I can survive on the studio sized fridge and mircro.
Hmmmmm - Two days later and the validity of this "Official Announcement" remains in question.
While I strongly believe there will be a POLY DVC someday, unless someone can point me to a major news agency that is independently reporting this, I would have to say this announcement is likely a hoax.

As I've said elsewhere in this thread, the release was sent by an established Disney PR staff member from her Disney email address.
The information has been reported by the Orlando Sentinel and dozens of different Disney fan sites. If there was any possibility of it being fraudulent, Disney would have moved swiftly to issue denials and investigate the nature of the release.
I just had conversations with 3 different departments of Disney that include the Polynesian Resort and DVC and no one in any of those departments say that the press release came from Disney. They did mention that since the information is not incorrect they don't seem to want to make them retract it but they are not saying they released anything official.
Just sharing what I am told.
No "major news agency" is interested in Disney resort construction that's 2+ years down the road. Did CNN, Reuters, USA Today, etc. cover the Grand Floridian villa announcement?
Note the story above was provided via a publishing agreement with the website MousePlanet.com. The agreement apparently ended because MousePlanet has not contributed to USA Today since August 2012.
And I'm sure MousePlanet will include a mention of the DVC Poly in its own Walt Disney World update next week.
To put a ribbon on this, I sent tikiman a PM with the names of two PR staffers he could contact at Disney for confirmation. The statement published at DVCNews.com was provided by Disney's PR department and it's validity has been confirmed by multiple individuals inside The Walt Disney Company.
If you're curious for more details, I'm right there with you. But the absence of such details doesn't make this any less "official." Tuesday's press release was issued by Disney. There is nothing unofficial about it. The lack of details and concept art was by design. Nobody "jumped the gun."
