We have a reservation in mid-February for a non-tower/original DVC Preferred View Studio. We are guessing that Morea building out of the three DVC building would have rooms that would be designated as "preferred". Can anyone confirm? We are looking for suggestions of what to request for the room. Guessing high floor since the seeming benefit of these rooms will be lake/MK views.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Tokelau is close to the Grand Ceremonial House. Moorea close to TTC. Tokelau is usually our first request followed by higher floor. The bottom floors have walkout balconies with just tiny bushes as a fence. With young kids (sensory issues and can suddenly run off) we have changed rooms in the past to avoid the ground floor. With scooters or wheelchairs and older kids the ground floor and not having to deal with the tiny elevators (barely fit a small scooter; sides have been dented by frustrated scooter users) a ground floor is highly recommended.

Be careful what you wish for. We got upgraded to partial fireworks view and the boat horns blow until 11:45 pm and start around 5:30 am!! You can hear them through earplugs.

“Preferred” used to be Lake view, so you’re right, you’ll be in Moorea and should request high floor. The first floor sees mostly the bungalows, but the high fireworks are visible beyond them. Second and third floor can actually see the lake!

Hey there, I am coming into this fairly late so apologies but I am wondering -- Is preferred always a water view? The description on the website says that preferred is the same as resort view -- Views of Landscaping or Parking Area --.
Thanks!

When Disney changed labels, Standard became Resort view, of landscaping or parking area. For the D.V.C. Deluxe Studios in the longhouses, Lake view became Preferred view, of the lagoon and bungalows.

I don’t know what Preferred view and Resort view are for the non-D.V.C. rooms at the Poly.

They don't actually use the "Preferred" terminology for the hotel side; it's still Resort/Water/Theme Park View. Poly actually had relatively few view categories before the 2023 standardization happened so it's pretty straightforward. Resort is the old Standard/Garden, Water is the old Pool/Marina view and TPV is the same.
