DVC Points question

Not sure if this is a dumb question or not! My parents bought into the DVC on their recent trip and gave my sister and I each 65 of their points to use each year. Their use year is August. When you first buy into the DVC - do you get the points immediately, or do you not have them until the beginning of your use year comes around? For instance - do I have 65 points now and then another in August, or would I be borrowing ahead?

As of August 2001, your parents should have an allotment of points to use by the end of July 2002. In August 2002, they'll get new points.

You might want to check with your parents. The only catch could be if they used the Magical Beginnings for their purchase. In that case, they may have given up some or all of their 2001 points towards the down payment.
