DVC points - how is this cheaper?

dvc rental store....is there still the chance that the reservation gets cancelled, due to owner bankruptcy,barred from using pts...etc????

That is always possible.

Even when you use a broker, you are still renting a reservation from an individual owner and something could occur that causes the reservation to be cancelled. That is one of the drawbacks of DVC rentals.

I have heard that some of the brokers hold back some of the fee until the guest has checked in, so in that sense, there is a bit more security. But, if an owner's account is frozen or suspended for any reason, then yes, the renter would be out of their reservation.

Maybe no additional adult charge for the third adult. But the DVC units do have maximum occupancies. You can't book through Disney and tell them you're going to cram 10 adults into a studio.

Yes of course. But my response was to the idea that you have to budget in for the extra adult charge when paying cash for a DVC stay. You don't. You still have to be able to stay in that room, though!
