DVC points for POR Royal Rooms

Can DVC points be used to book a Royal room at POR? I don't see it listed on the Disney Collection points charts.

No I don't believe so. Only at dvc resorts.

Call Ms and ask. There are sometimes room categories that are not listed on the charts that can be booked for points.

If your points are bought direct and not resale, you can book at POR but you need to call to book to get the Royal room. Its not the best use of points as some will tell you.

I am not sure POR's Royal Rooms are an option for using your DVC points. The point chart shows shows four categories: standard, garden, preferred or water view; or river view. Those categories do not guarantee you a Royal Room.

Just to clarify, and hopefully my clarification is accurate, there are some resale points out there that were grandfathered in, but if the resale points were purchased in the last 2 years or so then they wouldn't be eligible for those trade outs.

If your resale was submitted for ROFR before 3-21-2011, you are grandfathered in.

I would rent your points out, get the cash, then book at the Port Orleans Riverside Royal Rooms.

Thanks everyone. I did call MS and they let me know that DVC points cannot be used to reserve POR Royal Rooms.
