I LOVE DVC!!! My DW and I just celebrated our 10th anniversary, so we decided to spend a night w/out the kids in NYC. We used our points and stayed at the Loews Regency Hotel. WOW, what a great place! It was nice to see how the other half live. The hotel was luxury from the moment you stepped in until the moment they put the bags in our car to go home. It was not a huge hotel resort like the Sheraton or Hilton in NYC. This was a smaller resort but was exuding luxury. We got a luxury king which was the middle of the three choices advertised in the DVC point charts. The room was huge and even had a small kitchenette for coffee and such. It also had a mini fridge. The service was second to none. And the hotel is only 2 blocks from Central Park, so with nice weather we enjoyed some nice romantic walks in the park.
All in all a great use of the points in our opinion (the room goes for $569/night normally). We just LOVE having our DVC points in order to do things like this. And we are always ensured that the place we will be staying is top notch. We had a similar experience in London at the Royal Garden Hotel on DVC points. You gotta love it!!!!
P.S. If anyone is looking for a great romantic, quaint restaurant in NYC that will not break your wallet, try "The Place" down in the West Village. Unbelievable food and service! Can you tell we had a good weekend?
