I have 73 points that were banked into my current use year - and must be used by 10/2003. I would like to transfer these points to another DVC member's account, but have read the Member Guidebook which says banked points cannot be transferred. Is this true?

Banked points cannot be transferred and must be used before the end of the use year then were banked into - apparently September 30, this year.

If you can't use them yourself, you may be able to rent a reservation on the Rent/Trade Board using those points before they expire.

Good Luck!

Is there any way then to make these points available to someone else - or am I in a use them or lose them deal?

Doc, and Cat - thanks for the replies. Doc, does this mean DVC would be okay with it if I made the ressie for them?

You can use your banked points to make a reservation for anyone that you want. If the reservation comes to more than the 73 points you have banked, you could borrow a few to fill out the reservation.

Thanks HBC - and while this means I'm going to lose some points this year (darn!!!!!), the sting will hopefully prevent me from repeating my mistakes in the future.

Have fun on your upcoming 4-day adventure!

Members are able to use their points to make reservations for anyone they'd like. You can give a reservation to family or friends or rent it to someone if you'd like.

Good Luck! :)

You can rent the points by making the reservation in their name through your account. You also may be able to substitute some of the points if you have a pending reservation and free up points you can bank. You could also give them to me if you like or even to a charity. Good luck.

Hi.

I would be willing to accept points as a gift if you would rather not give them to Dean or charity. Hope this is helpful. LOL

Thanks, guys. We are giggling, at least-- thanks for the info and the laugh!
