Can someone tell me the release schedule, approximately, for the DVC pins? I have the Jiminy and Tink and Cinderella pins. I believe it's Genie out now? Will he still be out in October or will they be on the the 4th yet? I am going in October and I'm trying to figure out the best way to make sure I get all of the pins.

Thanks!

Erika

I've got an extra Genie pin. If they're selling the fourth one in October, pick up an extra and I'll trade with you. (I'm not going down again until Xmas.)

based on the prior release dates of:

February for Jimminy (AK)

May for Cindy (MK)

August for Genie (MGM)

I have gotten all of my info on these DVC Disney pins from DIZPINS.com

Well, I visited Ebay and got the Tink pin. I also got a couple of older pins that were all about my new home OKW:p

Tell me, now that I have yet another possible addiction taking root, How do you enjoy your pins? Do you have a display of some sort? Do you wear them? If so, do others try to trade them away from you:eek:

Please tell all:teeth:

I display all my pins. Some people use corkboard (which you can spray paint (pins seem to look better on a black background). I cover foamboard (the 1 in size) with black velvet (any black fabric could probably be used) and insert it into a frame.

I have my DVC pins with all my other resort pins.

You can wear them and if someone approaches you and asks for a trade you have the right to say no. Kids are the worst though. Very hard to say no. I carry a kids only lanyard for that reason. They can pick any pin off it.

Warning this hobby is very addictive and can get very expensive. If I have one word of advice, it is to pick a theme or character and stick with it.

Have fun!

Cyn

Figment2: Thanks for answering::yes::

I forgot to come look - crazy day yesterday:crazy:

Do you hang yours on the wall? Your method sounds very nice! I would be upset to wear an OKW pin and have someone try to trade:eek: So, if I get into this, I will definitely get a kids lanyard! Thanks for the info:sunny:

Lisa - yes, I hang up the frames. I won't say how many I have up but it's a wonder my walls haven't fallen down.

Well, Lori-n-NY and Figment2, sounds like I am hearing from two very big pin collectors:teeth:

My mom and I already had to break ourselves from a very bad Hallmark Christmas ornaments addiction! They were taking over my house. I still have enough ornaments for multiple trees:crazy:

Sounds like I could definitely go nuts over Disney pins! I was thinking, well they're so small - won't take up too much space:rolleyes:

Thanks for the help...I think?

DIsney pins are like potato chips...you can't stop with just one.

I have pins from each resort I have stayed at, pins that are for Annual Passholders only, pins that are DVC members, pins that are limited edition for Food + WIne, Flower and Garden, MNSSHP. ANd you see how one turns into alot more then 1. But I love to organize my pins so I have to have more from each trip so I can reorganize them. And I also went the Tinks Summer Pin Quest even this past July and I know I will make another trip next year for a pin event. Lots of pins from that event.

It all started with a free lanyard and two pins back in 2000 when I booked a package thru a travel agent ...way before I learned about DISboards....and they go tme. A pin trader for life.

So I will be in debt to DIsney for the rest of my life...I own DVC, I have Annual Passes and they keep making more pins...

I will be in WDW in Sept if anyone has any pins they are looking for let me know. I love to share the magic with others...

Hi Lori! How do you show off your pins? I bought my first five inside of a week off Ebay. Probably a bad way to get started, but it was still fun::yes:: :teeth:

Really can see that this could become a real illness! Thanks for posting more.

WithDIsney Spirit..Lisa,

I have some in a shadow box frame , that one is the I conquered the World pin pursuit form 2003. But most of mine I have a corkboard that I covered with black stiff felt. (In Micheals or any craft shop they have the felt squares and they should have the stiffer felt, not as fuzzy, it works wonderful.)
I cut the felt to fit the inside of the corkbaord frame and just push the pins in. You could paint the putside of the frame so it is not just wood color, mine is wood color , it matches all my picture frames.
I have two of these boards full and have started a third one. My daughter has one with blue felt fo rall her Lilo and Stitch pins. After my next trip I am going to start a board just for CM lanyard pins...since I seem to have a ton and no place to put them.

If you are collecting a series and there are a set number in that series you could frame them using a mat inside the frame. My aunt does that alot.
I could send you a few pictures but it would have to be thru email, I do not know how to post a picture on DISboards.

I hope this helps,
Lori

I sent you a PM, Lori! Would love to see pix of pins. It will get my creative juices going I hope:p

Thanks, Lisa:sunny:

I have a Disney Kitchen. Yes, it's decorated with all things Disney!
I display my pins on a large corkboard in my kitchen. I have plenty of room for more! It is very addicting so watch out!:flower1:

We put our resort and DVC pins on the fridge using Mickey Mounts we bought on ebay. Our fridge is black so they look great.:smooth:

That's a great idea too! Disney just goes with kitchens::yes::

MagikMom: Did you cover your cork board with something before hanging it?

Snowgod: Do they sell the Mickey mounts at WDW also? We go in October! Only problem, our fridge is white, guess that won't look good:confused:

Thanks, all you DVC and Disney pin addicts:teeth:

Lisa:sunny:

I have only seen them on Ebay. I wouldn't think pins could look bad anywhere because they remind me of so many good times.:smooth:

"MagikMom: Did you cover your cork board with something before hanging it?"

I didn't cover it. It's just a plain corkboard. Now that I'm getting these ideas though I think I might do a backround of some sort.
