Ok, so I am new to this. How does Disney "politely" keep non-DVC and AP holders off the ride? We own DVC and have AP's but I just cannot imagine a CM telling someone to exit the line.

We too were there for the preview of Soarin' and the crowds were not huge or unbearable. At least not anymore than they normally would have been!

I am hoping you are correct but according to what many cast members are saying and the way things are looking full & booked up it could be scary.

I guess I'm one of the few that recognized this as an exclusive offering for DVC members initially. They did not open up the offering to annual passholders until 10 days after the announcement for DVC members. But then again it may have been planned to offer to AP folks in that manner all along.

It's just a shame Disney didn't feel DVC members deserved an exclusive to express appreciation for our huge investment.

The same way they do for Extra Magic Hours.

If you do not have a DVC card or AP then you are not allowed past the roped off areas.

They do this all the time during Extra Magic Hours, no wristband, then you don't ride.

Actually, I consider DVC to be a great deal all by itself; I don't think we really warrant any special treatment beyond what is afforded to any regular Disney resort guest. In a way, we're paying a lot less than the guest who stays at a Disney resort every year without buying into DVC.

They have a cm at the beginning of the line checking. You will not be able to enter the line without a DVC card or AP. Kind of like the fastpass line.

I can't imagine how crowded it will be. A couple of years ago while we were on vacation in Disney they had a passholder event at AK when primeevil whirl opened. They were giving a lithograph and a free snack. We went in and it was absolutely packed the carnival games were stacked 8 deep in every position because you played for free and if you won your game you got a ticket for a free drawing. There was no way that everyone was going to get done playing in the allotted time. They ran out of Lithographs and had to send them to our home. That area was so packed with people that it looked like times square on new years eve. We went in and then turned right around and walked out. I seriously doubt that I would go to any free preview again. Just think about how many people are in Disney at one time and how many of them will be passholders and or DVC, this doesnt count the people who are making a special trip. I wish you luck!

I'm a little worried about this as well. We were going this weekend anyway because normally this is a really slow time. We thought we might go to AK just to get the free pin and lanyard, but it might not be worth it. Oh well, we'll probably check it out anyway.

The first week of January is usually very slow, but has been quite busy this year. January has been famous for being slow at WDW and I believe the idea has caught on that it's the "perfect" time to go. Low points for DVC members and new attractions with the intentions of smaller crowds.

I, personally, can't wait to ride Everest in April and I am eagerly anticipating a nice thread from the first DIS riders.

I would expect Saturday to be VERY crowded. Locals will head over (and locals means anyone within an resonable drive.) If you can go Friday or Sunday afternoon I bet it's better.

I am thinking I may try to race right over from the airport Friday!!! (I land at 3 so it will be tight!)

30,000+ runners sure made for crowded parks a couple of weekends ago. Hope this weekend will be a little less crowded, riiiight. Hope the line won't be too long, riiiight. 4 minutes of EE, I'll stick it out.

Well at least they have separate LE Disney pins (one for AP holders and one for DVC owners) for the event.

Well we went to AK today, go there around 1 and it was packed! Not summer packed but just about, only one parking lot area that wasn't full. It looked like lots of people had left already though. Safari had a 40 minute wait and Evrest was 30 minutes. Not many kids - mostly adults. Lots and lots of folks there for Evrest, or so it seemed! We went in but did not ride - DD saw the drop and said No Way!!

So can we ride twice in a row, without rewaiting in line since we are both DVCers and APers?
