DVC people ever get a deal on the gift cards??

Hey just seen that disney is offering some people that have booked vacations a gift card deal of a 500 card for 395. Just wondering if any one that has booked dvc has ever been offered this kind of a deal??

Wow! That's interesting. I remember when I used to work at The Disney Store, gift cards were never discounted because they were the same as cash. The user of the gift card can get discounts when they make purchases with the card, but if the card was discounted in the first place, that'd be double discounting. The deal you mentioned almost sounds like some Disney division is basically offering a $105 rebate (on the booked vacation) if you're willing spend $395 to get it. Just my opinion.

It would likely be for cash reservations, and with a resort package only. Disney needs people to book those cash rooms AND spend $$$ once they get inside the parks. While attendance is relatively stable, in park purchases are reportedly way down. Folks are going, but not spending on souvenirs and clothes.

The card is for merchandise only, that's alot of merchandise. Plus it can't be used with other discounts.
