DVC Owners - what Luggage brand is best?

If one is looking for a duffel soft style bags I can strongly recommend the BAD Bags - Best American Duffel, we have used these traveling 4 continents, and they are the best bag out there. At one time we were getting ready for a trip and I could not find one of my BAD bags, I ordered another and as things go located the missing bag the day the new bag arrived. These bags are bomb proof. Plus their customer service is great.

Dean, thank you for the suggestion. I did stop by Marshalls today and got lost in the luggage - saw a few Samsonite, American Tourister and Delsey there. Did like the Delsey very much and was tempted by yet another Samsonite spinner (nooo!). I wound up walking out with nothing, came home and explored the web instead. Found a Delsey travel tote that was almost identical to my favorite one (the last of the Disney luggage) that was ruined last week (not by the airline, but by a sick little feline not her fault.) I'm happy to have found and ordered that one, which I believe is lighter and a touch more organized than the one lost

I will continue to explore all options listed here - I need at least 2 new good sized pieces and I trust fellow DVC'rs when it comes to travel.

TJ Maxx and Marshall's are the same company. Their inventory changes dramatically from week to week, sometimes even day to day. If you see something you think you want, buy it at that moment. We've enjoyed our Delsey pieces though I like our older one better than the newer ones even though it's a little heavier.

If you want a carry on that also has a laptop component, Ricardo makes a 17 & 21 in that I've seen at both stores. Comparing the 2 stores, locally the Marshall's seems more likely to have a set of luggage but that may just be that it's in a better location so they direct the better pieces there.

My daughter has been travelling internationally quite a bit lately. I dropped her at Dulles a couple of weeks ago with her Kelty duffle - it's a $20 item. It weighed about 20pounds including contents. In the line the guy directed her to the oversize desk to pay some outrageous fee. We stepped out of line, rearranged the contents and used the straps to zip it tighter and smaller. At the desk she was handed her boarding pass and told she was okay - they asked did she take out some items. She told them no that she had just rearranged it a bit.

We have all kinds of Disney, Samsonite, Heys, Travel Pro etc, but for flying with the fees, we'll use the duffles and get a cart. The other stuff will be used when driving.

YUP!! Use Briggs and Riley and they are fabulous. They have been on several trips with me and look as new as they day they were bought.

I will not use another piece of luggage!

I am retired military, and have used my "KIT" bags for over 28 years. They are made out of canvas/ nylon, strong, and only weight 1.4 lbs empty. They are 3'H/ 3'D/ 2 1/2 'W....you can put 50 lbs. into it easy.
Strong/ light weight/ easy storage when empty.
Con of this bag...no wheels, but if get get a cart @ any airport, this bag
is for you!!!

Save your money on "good" luggage. Get an Owners Locker which will enable you to travel with carry-ons only like we do. No real substantial wear & tear when you are the only one handling your bags.

I LOVE our Eagle Creek bag!!! It is great. After a lifetime of cheap luggage, this suitcase is the best by far!
They also have a lifetime warranty. They will repair or replace any damage no matter what.

I would buy the LLBean luggage. We have had ours for about 4 years and travelled to Disney and Europe with it. We tried buying less expensive luggage but it only lasted a few trips before damage started to occur. We take about 4 trips a year and need durable luggage.
