Hi,
My brother and I have grown quite found of Disney World in recent years. We are relatively young 31 and 30. We have been to Disney twice in the last 3 years one time stayed on site at the Caribean (had a great time) but never really used Disney transport always had a rental car that we took to the parks (no waiting and the parking was included with room). The other time was for my brothers (twins) 30th birthday. We rented for one week a 6 bedroom house about 15 miles out side of Disney with Jacuzzi and pool for 1600. All the bells and whistles included. We are looking foward to spending time in Disney for the Food and Wine Festival. I used to go to DW quite often when I was in college with my girlfriend and I still love it. I have been mulling over the desicion to by a DVC since 2000 (boardwalk). I just don't know if it really pays to stay on site but that is a personal question I must deal with. In the mean time I would like to know if someone can help me out with a referal. I am looking into buying a 150 point contract at SSR and and additional 150 at BWV either through resale or Disney waiting list. I really like everything about boardwalk, but the SSR seems to be a pretty good deal (with referal) for someone my age so I am caught up with some tough desicions. Would luv to hear any opinions on this!

P.S.
Like I stated before we would enjoy going to the Food and wine festival or on a off week right before thanksgiving! Hope week can stretch the points out. Also what would be a good starting point for points figuring on about 5 to 7 adults. Guys with there girlfriends and parents?
Thanks for any responses!

First of all, welcome to the DISboards!

For a starting place on points, I'd first wonder if you will always have that many people traveling that you would always need a large amount of points?

Also, would you want to have 1 large space (grand villa, 2BR, or get 2 studios or 2 1-br). Those decisions can have a huge impact. For instance, you could get 2 std view studios for F&W in October for 5 nights (check-in Sunday, check-out Friday) for a total of 90 points. Two 1-br villas would be a total of 180 pts. A 2br would run 120 points, and finally the GV (3br) would be 395 pts.

So, technically, if you started with 150 points, you could stretch it out to get 5 nights during F&W and still have some left over for another trip.

For us, we are going for F&W this year and going to stay over at OKW. I might try at 7mo to get in at BWV or BCV, but I'm not going to hold my breath and will be completely happy over at OKW.

Good luck, and if you still need a referral, just let me know.
