DVC One time use points question

We are going to Disney in Sept and can book at a non home resort in early Feb. I am thinking about updating to a 1 bedroom room. We will be borrowing our 2015 points for the reservation but we will be short by about 5 points. Our use year is in April as well. So I am just confused because it says reservation for current use year. But when I book in Feb it will be before the new use year but our reservation is in that use year. So does it go by when the reservation is or when we buy the points? Like can I call a day or two before booking my reservation in Feb to add on enough points for when I go online a couple of days later to book I will be able to just book it?

If you have not already purchased One Time Use Points for a stay in your April 2014 UY then you should be able to purchase them for your Sep 2014 reservation. You cannot purchase them in advance. You buy them at the time you make the reservation. You cannot do this online, you will have to call MS.

If you are concerned that you will lose out on your preferred resort by waiting until 9am eastern time to call MS (vs booking online at 8am eastern time) then you could book as many nights as your own points will allow online at 8am, then call MS at 9am to add the additional night with whatever points you have left plus the five OTU points. If it's not a hard to get reservation then just call MS at 9am and book it all at once.
