Hello everyone! Last cruised on the Dream in 2017 and we had a DVC magnet and DVC lanyards given to us with an invitation to a DVC event on the 1st day. Does anyone know if they still do this?

The magnet should be on the door and lanyards inside the stateroom. If not, stop by the DVC desk and ask for them.

Not sure what the status is of any on-board member events.

When we were on the Wish in October, there was a Member Celebration offered on 2 days. It was about an hour long with limited free drinks, a group game and a character meet & greet at the end.

I can’t speak to the Wish, but on the Fantasy a few weeks ago, we did not get lanyards. I did get a small gift each day (tattoo, lip balm, Pop socket, etc.) for stopping by the DVC booth and scanning my KTTW card. There were 2 DVC member receptions during the 7-night cruise.

Just got back from the Fantasy on the Pixar Day at Sea cruise. Did not receive the DVC magnet, lanyards, or Castaway Club gift. Mentioned this at the DVC desk and Guest Services. DVC gave us the door magnet and lanyards. Guest Services gave us gold lanyards and the Castaway Club sling bag.

We were on the Wish in October and had all that stuff in our room on embarkation day. The DVC event was really fun!

If this is your second cruise you should also get a Silver Castaway Club lanyard. If they are not delivered to your stateroom, just ask at guest services about them.
Thank you :) wasn't sure if last time was because it was our 1st cruise :)

I know this is a old thread but was wondering if I need to do anything special for my first cruise to get the DVC stuff? We just joined DVC direct this week and have a cruise booked for April on the Treasure. Do I have to call and let them know I have DVC now, or should it be automatic? I am just really excited to be a part of DVC and our very first cruise!

You don't need to tell them. They will know that you are on the cruise and will automatically leave a gift for you. If you want to stop by their desk each day during the cruise, you might get additional items. You need to ask at the DVC desk if they are having a DVC social meeting. I've been reading that there usually is one but it's not advertised.

When you first enter your cabin, there should be a DVC gift on your bed - probably a DVC lanyard for each person listed as an owner on the contract as well as a DVC magnet for your door. If nothing is there, stop at the DVC desk and tell them you’re new members. Stop there every day for another little gift - we got lip balm one day, pop sockets another, etc.

We have never had gifts on the bed - I do know they do that for member cruises, which have not appealed to us enough to book them....

But they do have them at the booth every day and you can pick them up and have the little "chit chat" in exchange for your promotional swag of the day.

My memory might be faulty, but I’m pretty sure the magnet was either on the bed or on the door. I might be confusing the DVC lanyards with the Silver Castaway Club lanyards being on the bed.

yes lanyards are in the room for castaway club. We have always had the magnet on the door waiting for us when we arrive.

That must be my confusion, having the magnet on the door and Silver CC gifts on the bed.

The member cruises have real gifts left in the room every day (towels, bags, etc). For regular cruises DVC members get a magnet and DVC lanyard, and then you can stop by the sales desk for a little trinket type of gift (lip balm, pop socket, tattoo, sometimes a hat) each day. Don’t confuse the real gifts you get on a member cruise with the smaller Dvc freebie type items you get on a regular cruise.

We have to go to the DVC kiosks every time we cruise. They tell me the “names on the DVC does not match up with the names on the cruise. You can get their daily gifts and the magnets.
