Villas at OKW have windows on more than one side because of the way the buildings were planned with irregular shapes. SSR units are more uniformly rectangular and have windows only on the side opposite from where you enter your villa.

At OKW there are some villas that do not have a window, only the double doors to the balcony. I had two diff rooms(studio) both in building 14( 1 in feb and 1 this Oct ) that had no window. This is not a problem with us.
I also don't remember a window in our studio at SSR this Oct but I wasn't looking for one. Just the balcony doors

Do you know the expected completion dates of phase II and III. I thought phase II was end of 2005 and phase III end of 2006?

I'm pretty sure Phase II will be completely open by the end of this year. I think Phase III is supposed to be open in 2007. There may be some buildings open in 2006 though. I've still not seen any official information about Phase III - like site plans or completion schedule like they had for the original 12 buildings.

At the member update on Wednesday, Dave said the last building in Phase II will open in November. Construction has started on all buildings in Phase III. I didn't hear him mention dates for those buildings but to me it looks like they may start opening in late 2006 and continue into 2007.

The closing documents for SSR includes site plans for all three phases.

A couple of other points I noticed when we stayed at OKW in September but kept getting on the boat over to SSR..

The golf pro shop is right underneath Artists Palette/Turf Club at Saratoga and the 1st tee for LBV is just over the bridge. If you like to golf, hard to beat that. You could easily walk to the pro shop from the Springs area. We got lost the first time we came off the boat at Saratoga and ended up in the pro shop. I wanted to play, but I kept getting the evil eye from the wife.. Next time.

Our DD 2 and 5 loved the kids slide and the zero entry pool at Saratoga. The community center at Saratoga also seems to be bigger. One day they called us out of the High Springs(main) pool to make your own ice cream for $4($3 for DVC members..my membership is paying off now..lol) at the community center there. It was supposed to be my 5 year old, but I ended up making it(fun/big mess).

We enjoy both resorts..I honestly could stay there and find plenty to do even without the parks.

Forgot about that. I was thinking more of the 1 and 2 bedrooms.
I think the situation you are describing is in the lockoff studios. The window that is in the "non-master bedroom" of the dedicated 2 bedrooms sort of overlooks the living room area. If you are in a lock off studio, that would not be good to overlook someone else's living room.

looks as if i will be staying @ ssr since the dvc perons point r 4 that resort
I don't think I'll have any regrets as long as i get the dedicated 2 br unit
have 4 kids under 12 and don't want the extra kitchette!!!!!!!!!!!

Was there not a window on the door side of the studio? I thought all the studios at OKW had a window near the door where you enter from the main door.
