DVC not closing this week...ROFR?

Indeed, I got notification last night that my contract has closed.

However:

...Disney will be notified of the change of ownership within 24 hours. Please allow Disney 5 weeks to complete the transfer once notified. Disney will notify you by email once the transfer is completed. The points can take up to an additional 14 days to show in your account upon completion of the transfer...

That´s 7 weeks to finally have my account set up and points on my name. This pretty much handicaps my ability to book on my intended 2021 Christmas reservation considering the 11 month window I wanted to use. Oh well, we´ll see what happens.

Does DVC usually take that long to close everything up? I was sure hoping for a faster transaction overall. When I first made my original offer (Oct 24th), I thought maybe I should wait for a better contract to appear, not to jump after the very first real option I had in front of me. I guess I made the right move after all. Still, the waiting is exhausting.

Normally, it has not, but during this past year, it has taken that long. Recently, things have speed up, buy my summer purchase was about 7 weeks from closing to points loaded.

Recently, it does seem to be faster, but given holidays and such, plus short staffing, I would not expect less than 4.

The recorded deed will go out by regular mail within 2-3 business days. The owner’s policy will be electronically sent via mail within 30 business days.

Yay! Finally got confirmation ours closed and I checked - the deed was recorded today.

That´s interesting. Same email I got except mine stated 4-5 weeks rather than 3-4. Lets hope yours ir right and mine is not.

I hope you have your receipt...you get a full refund if not delivered on time!

My 1 day express mail made it in one week! hopefully closing tomorrow and I will be requesting the refund.
