Hello,
we just purchased DVC membership and our closing is today :cool1::cool1:
I have been reading very careful all the documents and papers we got and have a question I could not find an answer too.

It says that I can make reservation for up to 7 nights only. We would like to book 2 weeks for our next vacations, how do we do that? :confused3

Thank you all very much!

Hi!

It's just that-book your first week, and when the date of the 7 or 11 month window opens, book your second week.

Have a great trip!

Oh, thank you! That makes sense, do I need to do something to link the two reservations so that we stay in the same room , or would the system automatically do that?

You call member services and link them. We do it all the time. No worries.

Now tell me if I'm wrong but can't she call MS after a few days to add days to the end. This is what I did. I called after a few days and added to the end then again a few days later did the same thing until I had all the days. We never had to link any reservations that way and we had all 12 nights booked.

The 7-night booking restriction applies only when you are booking right at 11 months from check-in (when using home resort points) or right at 7 months from check-in (when using non-home points). If you are at least 7 days into your 11/7 month window you can book the full 2 weeks in one go.

If you are booking for a busy time and must book right when the 11/7 month window opens, you can book up to 7 nights at that time. Then you can call MS 6 days later and ask them to modify your reservation and add 6 more nights, then call again the next day to add the last night. If you can afford to wait until 7 nights from check-in for the second week of your stay, you can book those additional nights yourself online as a new reservation and then call MS and they will combine the two reservations into one. They do this now instead of linking, guaranteeing you will be in the same room for the entire stay and will not have to check out and check in again since it is one continuous reservation. Since you have to call MS either way, it's easier to call them to have them add the nights to your reservation.
