DVC Mike Live from VWL (Jan 9-17, 2010)

We slept in today, and then ordered in a nice room service breakfast. We have no plans to leave the resort today. We may hit the MK tomorrow.

The lobby of the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is very cozy and inviting.

It has been so cold they have all the topiaries covered, including this one at the VWL entrance.

It's a balmy 23F here in NC this morning Mike:lmao:

Love your photos of the WL Lobby. It's one of my favorite places for relaxing:thumbsup2

Yes, no matter how cold it may be, it's still warmer than home. And, better than that, I'd at Disney!

It amazes me that people will get into water in cold weather. Do they not realize that eventually they will need to get out of the water. Brrrrr.
Great photos. I hope your wife is feeling better.

:) Just a question DVC Mike...Do you and your wife have a set plan of what resort you visit when?? I mean would it always be WL in January and a BWV for F&W?? Just curious. I do hope your wife is feeling better. Also do you vacation anywhere else besides Disney. My Father is always telling us that he hopes we go other places"than just WDW"....I have been to other places it is just that WDW "is home" to us. Of course I asked him this weekend and Daddy said he and Mama would be up for a trip in 2011(they went with us in 2008--before joining DVC).

So love reading your reports! Your photos are outstanding. So unusual to see pics with next to no one one them. Enjoy your trip! Hope your wife is feeling better.

We mix it up, but have our favorites. We had been going to VWL every December, but we since then we bought BLT and we'd rather stay there in December, watch the holiday version of Wishes and the Castle all iced up. For October, we like to stay at BWV or BCV. AKV has seemed to land mostly in March.

Love your pictures. They are so beautiful. Never realized how beautiful that hotel was. Will take a tour when my son and I go to Whispering Canyon for dinner next month.

Great pictures Mike. Every time I try to take a picture indoors they come out way too dark.

Mike,

Lovin' the pictures - Thanks! :thumbsup2

I believe Ranger Stan has retired, correct? Do you know if they have hired someone to replace him? We had the opportunity to take his wonderful tour when we visited there about 2 years ago. What a great asset he was to the WL!

ENJOY :goodvibes

Well, we did have a nice dinner planned at Artist Point. I cancelled it since my wife wasn't feeling good.

She's getting better and made herself something to eat while I grabbed a sandwich at Roaring Fork CS (I can safely report that it's just not the same as dining at Artist Point).

Mike the pictures are beautiful! I'm glad to hear that your wife is feeling better. I look forward to hearing more. What are your other dining plans for this trip?
