DVC Mike Live from BWV/SSR (3/7-3/15/09)

It seems like they've stopped offering yoga on the beach...7AM at the Beach Club. That was a very serene experience, being there, then. There were many moves beyond me...but still.

Ahh, I just love the Boardwalk in the morning!

This looks stunning! I wish I was there now. It seems so peaceful and calm. :cloud9:

That just takes me back to last October when we stayed there, getting up in the morning and walking around early, it was nice. Sigh - I wish I could be back there today.

Of all your photos, this is the most amazing!

I've never seen stand by for EE less than an hour since we go in the summer time. Incredible!!

I'll join the multitudes in thanking you for your time and energy to keep all the pictures and commentary flowing. Your DW must be very tolerant of you on vacation! :thumbsup2

We were there last weekend, and due to having our daughter, the hubster and I had to swap and do the single rider line. I kid you not, when my husband got to ride it 5/6 times in a row simply by getting off and then getting back on. off and on, rinse and repeat......I was amzed at how little we had to wait for anything.

I spent some time over at Epcot today. They are getting things ready for the Flower & Garden festival which starts next week.

My DW is sad she's going to miss it. We usually hit it the first week of May, and had been planning on staying at the new Kidani Village. However, our plans changed and we'll be staying at the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland in May instead.

Tonight we're having dinner at Chefs de France in Epcot. We've not dined there before. Hmmm, should I try the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts or the Plat de Cote de Boeuf au Cabarnetavec pates?

We had dinner at Chefs de France for the first time in January on my birthday, we enjoyed it very much! I actually liked it better than California Grill (had steak and potatoes at both restaurants). Remy was our waiter, he was great. And all the Chefs sang Happy Birthday to me in French. Very cool.

Hope you have a great experience, can't wait to hear back with your dining experience, (and what you decided to eat!).

I've been reading your thread and I just wanted to say have a great dinner. We went to Chefs de France for the first time and LOVED it. Can't wait to go back in Aug. The desserts are delicious, and if you like French Onion soup, you have to try it!

Mike I just love your pictures...this will be our first year at the Flower event and looking forward to that....thanks for the wonderful pictures of Boardwalk..:goodvibes

We're back from dinner at Chefs de France. It was just OK, certainly not anywhere near as good as Jiko, Flying Fish Cafe or Yachtsman Steakhouse. I would much rather dine at Le Cellier.

It started off poorly when the chef didn't come out to speak with my wife about her numerous allergies, as they do at every other Disney table service we've been to. Instead, we had to communicate to the chef through our server, who went back and forth relaying information to/from the chef. Add to that the issue of language and it was almost funny. They didn't offer to make her anything special, so all she had for dinner was the cheese plate appetizer. I had been warned long ago that they didn't cater too well to people with food allergies.

I ordered the Soupe a l'oignon gratinee (Onion Soup), and the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts (Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans).

They simply forgot my order of Onion Soup and delivered the filet. It was nowhere near the quality of a filet from Yachtsman, Jiko, or Le Cellier.

I guess I can understand the appeal of this restaurant. We sat near the back wall, so we didn't get the lovely view of World Showcase that I've heard about.

Bottom line: It won't be added to our list of restaurants that we regularly dine at WDW.

Sorry you didn't have a terrific experience at dinner! In regard to Chefs de France, the language barrier was pretty difficult! You just made me remember how my DH was talking to the waiter using his hands in his own version of "sign language" with the waiter, I was like, "honey, he's French, not deaf"! :lmao:

LeCellier is the best though!
(the pics don't come up at my work, so I just went thru them all at home tonight, they are amazing, some are literally breathtaking!!)

We have eaten there twice and it was average at best. We did it the secound time thinking they might have had a off night first time. We were wrong. It's not bad just can't compete with le cellier.

Another agreement about Chefs de France. We ate there in December and DH got the Jarret d'agneau aux haricots blanc: Braised lamb shank with navy beans. And he's pretty sure it wasn't lamb. Donkey, maybe. And not even the good part of the donkey.

But he admits he does fantasize about the flatbread.

Overall, a real "meh" for us. We tried so many new things on that trip and were really only wowed by Boma. My DH now insists we stick with what we know.

It's mostly that way for us. Out of our 12 dinner reservations, only 2 were at places we haven't tried yet (Chefs de France and Il Mulano).

Mike, loved you Epcot shots from yesterday, we are there to see all that in a few weeks, so can't wait. So where are we headed with you today?! LOL

Looks like you're actually getting to see a lot of what you would see at the Flower and Garden Festival anyway. It looks beautiful and really making me long for Spring!

This morning, we're headed over to The Land Pavilion to take the Behind the Seeds at Epcot tour. My DW is into gardening.

On Wednesday, we'll be doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour at the MK.

Tonight we'll be dining at Il Mulino New York Trattoria at the Swan Resort. Hopefully we'll have some good Italian food! We've not dined there before.

Sounds like a fun day! My DH wants to go on the Behind the Seeds tour sometime. Have a great time!

Read the whole TR & LOVED the pictures. I kept interuppting my DH last night from watching the Big East tourney to show him your pics. (he's a good sport-he enjoyed them...!) I did want to ask, can you use the DDE/TIW at Il Mulino ? Thanks for sharing your trip! Deb
