It is called Bellmawr Lake, and it is still here. As a matter of fact it just opened for the season. I haven't been there since I was a lttle girl, but I know a few people that still goes there.

yep, that's the one. We went there for group trips/bbq's for years. Then the trips just stopped. Always wondered if it was still there.

Hey N Jersey here!!! Boonton, not as close to Disney as some of you S. Jersey people so we may start our next trip from your houses down south and knock 2 hours off our trip !!! Hubby is from Ringwood and I am Secaucus( I can hear everyone saying it wrong-except those Hudson county people!) but we settled up here! We (or maybe me) hope to move home to Disney someday soon!!!!

LOL. Yes, people who live there put the accent in Secuacus on the first syllable, and everyone else puts it on the second.

I don't know who is correct. I'd be inclined to say that we should defer to the people who actually live there. However, there are many residents of Baltimore who pronounce their city "Bal-mer," so the locals can't always be trusted.

Lived in Ocean Grove my entire life---until 2001. Then I became a Florida Princess!!! Now live in beautiful Sarasota---hey--NO SNOW!!!
We will be there for Jersey week----meeting up with Friends and relatives from NJ---but hey--we're there all the time anyway now!!!!!

We are Bergen County. Just back from BCV on 7/3 but can't wait to go back.

Maybe you guys could appreciate this. BCV coffee is soooo weak, needed a strong cup of coffee in the morning, so searched for expresso. No Starbucks on Disney property.

Hello all!! A shoebie is what we call the tourists who swarm the Jersey shore, restaurants, malls, and most importantly the ROADS- every summer. They kind of take over and SOME are not very considerate of the people who actually live there.

DH told me the real story of the word shoebie. Years ago tourists came to Atlantic City with their lunch in a shoe box. That is apparently where the term comes from.

We moved here about 1 1/2 years ago... and just bought into DVC in the last month (still haven't even gotten our paperwork yet!).

We will soon own 150 SSR points and 100 BCV! I don't know how to add the images though to my signature (and I thought I was pretty savvy when it came to the Internet!).

I'm a mom of a 2-year old Angel who works full-time in Advertising sales. It makes it very difficult to meet other moms because there isn't much free time!!! Maybe we can meet some new people through this Jersey thread. Hope to hear from you soon!
