We'll be staying at the Marriott Ko Olina in early June (out of points, cash rate for a 2-bedroom was significantly more than Marriott) but would like to visit Aulani. Other than walking around the grounds and eating there, what else might we be allowed to do and what facilities might we use? We'll bring our DVC membership cards.

Also, has anyone walked from one to the other? I see on the Ko Olina map that there's a jogging trail along the roadway and the beach but it's hard to judge how far it is and how long it might take to walk.

TIA!

The trail walk is not that far at all.... a little over 2 miles in full length according to Map My Run :http://www.mapmyrun.com/us/makakilo-city-hi/ko-olina-path-down-and-back-route-18329614

You will easily be able to walk the trail over to Aulani unless you have mobility issues.

In addition to dining and walking the grounds you can also do the DVC tour and shop in the shops and also book an appointment at the Spa (which is an amazing spa btw).... as far as I know that's about it if you aren't staying at Aulani as a guest. I would think you could also use your DVC card for the perks listed for Aulani on the DVC website, such as discounts, and could attend the member mingle.

Taken from the Aulani Website:
Day Guests are welcome to enjoy the dining, shopping and spa experiences offered at Aulani.

We walked this last year when we also stayed at the Marriott. Its a pleasant and easy walk. You can eat, spa, walk around, use the beach (and rent things there) but there isn't much else you can do. When we visited last year, it was immediately after we had just made a sizeable investment in DVC with Aulani as our home property, so tried to get a day pass to use the pool (since we also had friends staying there). We talked to everyone up the food chain, and it was impossible. We still found it worth walking over to check out. If nothing else, you can get a dole whip.

the beach. Its a paved path. nice walk along the ocean. I would definitely go that way.

As to the $35 parking fee, during our multiple stays at Aulani I have always understood that if you can produce over $35 in receipts showing you dined, shopped, etc., that the parking fee is waived. Parking fees are pretty typical on Oahu especially.

Good to know, thanks for posting.
