DVC members: are you Annual Pass holders?

Responding to an earlier thread and DVC mgmt's assertion that a mere 13% of DVCers are also AP holders.

Of course this is totally unscientific, and pls feel free to post a better poll on the subject, by all means

I placed my vote in the "Always, every year" category only because I had my passes renewed today for the 2nd year in a row. Now that we are DVC members and also the fact that our little one is becoming more and more of a Mickey fan we plan a few trips.

It helps that we live only 3 hours away by car and that we have the Florida Seasonal Pass available to us. So, it's worth it for us for now.

Yes indeed. We have been continuous, uninterrupted passholders since 1995, and premium passholders since a couple years after that.

I voted every year for APs, but it isn't exactly accurate, since we try to get 2 years worth of trips on one AP by spacing our trips out correctly.

I do think this might not be an accurate place for this poll, since most of us on the DIS DVC board are truely "died in the wool" WDW/DVC fanatics!

I voted under "always", but it's not exactly accurate. We bought AP's in Sept. 2000 and used them for that trip and May 2001. We let them expire in Sept. 2001 and we didn't have them for over a year. Then we purchased AP's in Oct. 2002 for the next 2 trips. That's how we get the most out of our $$.

Well, as I was envisioning the poll, I would say that the ever-thoughtful DisneyDiane would fall into the second category, so mea culpa on the wording. Ppl answering after this, pls keep this in mind when answering.

And yes, this will be a skewed sample, as we are Mouse fanatics on this board anyway (would that translate to Mausfanatisch in German?). So to my fellow statistical purists out there, my apologies; but it is kind of a fun poll anyway.

I voted yes every year, but technically this is our first year owning AP's. However we will just continue to renew them every year.

Sometimes the AP will lapse for a few months before our next trip.

I have had an AP since 1998, about a year before I became a DVC member. We have gone at least twice a year since then. If you count the 1 night stay during a business trip last month, I've gone 5 times this year! 3 nights POFQ (Feb), 7 nights OKW (May), 5 nights CBR (Oct), 1 night CBR (Nov), 6 nights BWV (this week). I plan our trips to get maximum use. We bought new ones on May 10 this year and next year I have a trip planned May 2 to 7.

I voted every year but actually its every other year, we get two uses a year out of every annual pass one inthe end of Dec and the other the following year at the begining of Dec

We buy annuals every year, renewal on December 23 for the next year. We have taken 3 trips a year for the last 3 or 4 years, that's about 30 days total, so it's worth every cent of the cost to us. And I LOVE the AP rates on hotel rooms, for when I run out of points.

Us too. In hindsight, we should have bought them when we took our trip last December instead of the hoppers. Would have been a wiser decision on our part.

We used to be "always" but when Disney changed the rules that renewal APs started their time when the previous year's pass expired instead of starting when activated, we stopped renewing every year as it wasn't worth saving a few dollars to lose as much as 6 months of time so now we wait to buy the new ones until the first trip after our old AP expired.

Sorry, That wasn't meant to sound as critical as it must have. I just meant that DVC members as a whole might not have as High a AP useage as DIS/ DVC members. I think I do still fall into the first catagory, because we do travel every year and always have an AP. The difference is in when we purchase them. We do the same as Paults.

We have been the last 2 yrs. Only one of us will become an AP holder when these ones expire so we can get the AP rates.

We also always buy APs. We don't do the automatic renewal though... we just buy new APs when we begin the next trip after the passes expire... I voted in the second category.

Once we purchase DVC we started going two or three times a year so it only makes sense to have AP's for us.
