DVC Member site - On-line Banking

On the home page of the dvcmember site it now says we can do on-line banking of points. They're making progress!

This makes a lot of sense since banking is a fairly straightforward transaction. I would imagine they would give you a warning pop-up that would state that once they are banked, points cannot return to the original UY? Since banking (unlike borrowing) is independent of reservation activity, it would seem to be a logical next step in the on-line process.

Also, banking is not "time sensitive" like reservations in that you aren't "competing" with other owners for a particular transaction. Makes sense to go to on-line point banking to me, unless I'm not thinking of a potential problem scenario.

Yes, I first saw this mentioned in the 2007-2008 planner last month (pg68). They said late 2006, so I thought it'd be more like December...

If anyone actually uses this feature, please give us a report - I hate to be the first to use a new online feature. Just seems like a better plan to wait until the bugs all get worked out, LOL.

I do have 10 points that will get banked, so maybe I will try the new feature - but obviously, there is no hurry with only 10!

I just used it. It was really easy and straightfoward. You have to agree to the terms which are exactly what is in the vacation planner. You physically type in the amount and everything is shown in an easy to read format. You print it out with the confirmation and they sendyou an email confirmation as well. Very easy. Saved me a phone call because I kept forgetting until after MS hours.

On making progress, have any of you called MS recently and been asked to take the survey? I did the other day and it asked you to pick the reservation system you would use the most. On line was one of them. Of course, that is what I chose!

I just became a member last month... and haven't receive anything from Disney yet. What is the website of the DVC homepage and how do we get log-on information. Can I log-on before I get my membership package, or do I have to wait?

I called MS before I received all my closing documents and they gave me what I needed over the phone to access DVCmembers.com

I also just used it too and it seemed to work as advertised. I banked 100 June/2006
points into next year. It updated my points data to reflect that, and sent me
an email confirmation.

I just tried the online banking last night. They have done a nice job with this. It's very straightforward and displayed the information I wanted to see at each step in the process to reassure me that the right number of points from each of my two contracts would be banked, and that the transaction completed successfully. I will be calling tomorrow to make a reservation and want to use banked points for it. It was very convenient to get the banking done in advance. Kudos to the folks who implemented this new feature! Nice job!

Yes they're making progress. I just banked the remainder of my 06UY points. I don't think it took a minute to do.
