DVC Member Room Block ?

My question is this... I am a DVC member and my cousin is getting married at WDW in the fall of 2015. How does room block work with the use of DVC points?

Our home resort is SSR but her hopes are to get married at GF. We have enough points to book 4-7 rooms - depends if we book studio rooms or 1 bedrooms. I would like to be able to reserve rooms at the GF but my booking window for GF will open 7 months from her wedding and I know it will be hard to reserve that many rooms at GF at 7 month mark.

Can anyone provide some insight to this. Will I be able to book at the GF before the 7 month mark if a Disney room block is involved?

TIA

No if you are using your points all the normal DVC rules apply. After you've booked you can use the reservation numbers towards the room block.

Thank you Chilly.

Helps to know now since the point value at the two resorts are different. This way I can tell her just how many rooms we can book with our points and were we will have our best booking options for her guest. And SSR will be our best option since the booking window will open sooner than the one at GF. Would love to have everyone at GF since the studio rooms are bigger but I on the other hand I can't wait to share the SSR experience with other family members.
