I will be making my first trip "home" as a member in October and was curious about a few things.
First, does it really matter if I purchase park passes now or can I just buy them when I get to my resort (Boardwalk)?
Second, will I be able to use my membership card like a credit card and settle up my account before I leave? My last trip down I was given a credit card type card that enabled me to enter the parks as well as charge at restaraunts and shops throughout the resorts and parks.
You comments and advice is appreciated.

You will be able to set up charging priviledges on your room key (not membership card) just like any other WDW resort.

Can wait to buy tickets at BW. Only reason to buy early would be to avoid a price increase but those now occur in Jan of each year. System with DVC is really not any different than system with regular rentals. You check in and give them a credit card, you then get a room key (shaped like a credit card), on which they will code your park tickets (hoppers or length of stay) and on which you can have charge privileges throughout WDW. The charges get charged to your room, and then to the credit card used to check in. The DVC membership card is not used for any credit purposes.
