Our first visit since becoming DVC members is approaching and I will be making ADRs in a couple of weeks. We are still debating buying the dining plan. Since we will not be committed to the plan at our 90 day mark what happens regarding our dining reservations. Will I need to notify Disney dining if we do add the dining plan or can we just tell our waitperson at the restaurant? Does the online reservation site ask if you are or are not on the dining plan?

I believe you can add Dining Plan up to 48 hours before check-in (check timing); thus, most people have already done their ADR's. The on-line reservations do NOT ask if you are on the DDP. Just let waitstaff know when ordering - most of the time they ask when they first come to your table. We too are still deciding if it's worth part of our split-stay visit and all of our ADR's are done.

We just made our ADR's today for our upcoming trip. We won't add the DDP until closer. They did not ask on the phone this time if we were on any type of plan, either.

I made my ADR's last week for my Oct trip. There is not any place to check if you are using the DDP online. I really thought there would be. I called Member Serivces after I made them and added it. Not a problem.

I can tell you for sure though that if you are going to any restaurants that require a deposit (Cali Grill, CRT, etc.) you'll have to give a credit card--we had to even though we have the dining plan. Also if you plan any of the dinner shows--you'll have to pay in full at the time of booking if you don't have the dining plan on your reservation.

Did you know that you can add the dining plan, and then if you decide not to keep it, just call and cancel it, we've done this many times. You don't pay for it until you check-in.
