Can anyone tell me the price (paying cash) for this cruise in 2009? We're thinking of doing the 2010 one. Thanks!

I suspect that the 2010 Cruise will be announced on this years cruise. If it's the same time of the year, based on the DCL calendar the 2010 cruise could set sail on 9/12/2010 with booking starting in early November (1st?). The Member Cruise is a charter so DVC can set the itinerary and pricing as they see fit. The 2009 Member Cruise booked out in one day. So if you really are planning on sailing on it, you need to be calling MS as soon as they open on booking day.

Yes all of the above is very true. Planning ahead before booking day is very important. We should hear on the DIS once the date is announced for next year. We have sailed on two of the Member Cruises and are considering if we will be joining next year as well...

So does everyone take their kids out of school for this? Or do they leave them at home? Are they mostly little ones? Do they ever have a members cruise during the summer?
What are the advantages of going on a members cruise?

The DVC Member Cruises thus far seem to have had a very low attendance of children on board. I am sure it is partly the cruise date (though the first one was held in the month of February) with the kids heading back to school shortly before them.

The advantages are being on board the DCL with so many fellow DVC Members, the special presentations, the gifts, the tips included (for most of the member cruises) and more..

We're thinking of doing the 2010 Member Cruise as a gift for my husband's upcoming retirement. My two grandson's would be missing a couple of days of school for it. It's early in the school year, if they do it in September.

hi.
my family is attending 2009 member cruise. this is our first member cruise. we live in florida. school began in august. my children will miss 5 days of school. you should factor in child sick days, child's doctor's visit days, etc before committing to taking them out of school for the cruise (if my info is correct -- in florida, a student is only allowed 15 missed school days before they will be held back a grade level)

Can you guys give some more details about what goes on on the Member Cruise? The price seems a little steep even though I know there are extra perks going on. I would love to go one year, and want to know more about it :).

Thanks!

I did the 2006 member cruise and then in 2007 members had to wait to sign up until all 1st time member cruisers have called--is it still that way?

when will the chart and prices for next year be ready? I wish they would put it out earlier so I can start doing the math.:teacher:

Have they ever done the Member cruise in a different month?:confused3
I know 2010 is Sept again. But, just wondering if I should expect it this time ALWAYS. If so, I am sad...with my work I could never go:teacher:

there was a member cruise in Feb in 2002 - I guess they like Sept. for the person that missed 2009 - you may want to read reports before you decide on the 2010 cruise

I think that Sept is the only time of the year that DCL will allow DVC to charter the entire ship.
