DVC Member Cruise - September 18, 2011?

I was just browsing the DCL site for cruises in September, 2011 (given that my DD's enlightened school has chosen to give her a week off during non-peak cruise season - to which I say: :worship:) and saw that what would have been a 4 night Dream cruise on September 18, 2011 is not showing as available on the DCL site, leading me to believe that *might be the date for the DVC member cruise*! If that is the case, we will be going (and will probably be doing a back-to-back with the 3 nighter on September 22nd). Anyone else think my powers of deductive reasoning might be correct? Since I'm officially "on the grid" for a DVC member cruise, do we typically create a cruise meet thread here on the DVC boards for the cruise? If not, we totally should (if the Mods allow us to...) -- I've had wonderful luck with DIS groups on my cruises. Woo-Hoo!

I was looking for that date before and the general consent seems to be that this is indeed the date for the Member Cruise.

That is the date for next years Member Cruise. It was announced in Disney Files a coupe of months ago. As for a thread for the cruise, there has always been one over on the cruise meets forum. We've been on a number of the past member cruises and have always had great DIS groups. In fact there is a current active one over there for this years cruise (which we aren't going on).

Yep we are on the cruise boards!!! This year we leave Sept 12- we are first time cruisers so we are waiting to see what this experience is like before planning that far ahead. But I'm sure with that sort of timing - it was just meant to be for you!!!!

One more thing - if you are going to do a back to back they will most likely have to be booked separately. The Member Cruise is a charter and needs to be booked on a special booking day via Member Services. Also while you can pay cash (credit) for the Member Cruise it has to be paid in full on that booking day.

Do you know on average how much the member cruise will be? We would want to pay cash vs using points. Do they still have the same cancellation policy?

Thanks for all of the replies everyone! :grouphug: Hopefully we'll be sailing with some of our fellow DVC peeps.

That's a great question and, if anyone knows, I too would like to know. I looked at some other Dream cruises in September and the prices are incredible, so hopefully the member cruise isn't too far off those prices.

Apparently, the Member cruises are always a bit more expensive than regular DCL cruises, as tipps are already included and there are also special guests onboard.

But as the regular cruises on Disney Dream seem to be a bit less than comparable cruises on Disney Wonder, so hopefully this applies to the member cruise as well.
