DVC Member Cruise ~ August 24, 2015

Donna, we have lived in Washington Township/Centerville, just south of Dayton for 23 years. That's the house we have scheduled to close on July 31, then we will look in FL! Meanwhile we're living in NJ, Cape May. We've owned this house with my sister for 18 years.

Where in OH do you live?

Please, if you have signed up or want to sign up and do not see your name, mention that here or in a conversation to me. Some have told me that they were on the list and then, somehow were not on the list. I have made mistakes, and think I'm okay now!

Lol...I am biased toward Wilderness Lodge Villas as its our home resort.

How do you feel about the additions they are doing to the area?? I am hoping the Spring pool will not be closed for as long as people are thinking. It could be down from this fall until 2017!

I hope not! We rarely spend much time at the pool but I love to visit the geiser. Funny, they were working on the pool area when we took our cruise during Spring Break 2013.
We are actually testing other resorts since we don't have the kids so we are resort hopping. We are at Port Orleans Riverside on Saturday, then AKL on Sunday.
I love the overall decor of Wilderness Lodge. The Grand Californian is very similar. I grew up in CA so its homey to me.

We stayed at the Grand Californian last June after our DCL WBPC cruise. It is so beautiful. I enjoyed these touches in the restaurant! Like WL, but having its own charm. The character breakfast was so delicious and fun!

We ate at Napa Rose the night we got there, it was delicious! We only managed 3 nights there, and a fellow DVC person, Meriweather here, had told me her "must dos."

The character breakfast was booked the day before, it had not been planned. I had forgotten the name of the restaurant but it really blew me away.image.jpg

That's Storytellers Cafe...loved that breakfast. Kids got to meet some of the rare characters...Brother Bear's Koda & Kenai, Turk, along with Chip n Dale, etc. I think it was buffet at the time. We also loved at perk of the side entrance to California Adventure.
We are staying out of the parks this time...just relaxing and checking out new restaurants and resorts. We tend to stick to familiar when we have the kids. We are excited to wander.

I would like to participate in the CE on the cruise. How do I sign up? Where do I get more information?

I think you may not have come back to the thread. Tomorrow is last day for sign ups. Would love to have you join us. Here was my reply.

I am organizing a Candy Exchange. Deadline July 15.

In the Candy Exchange we use Fish Extenders to give candy, snack of local or regional flavor. I keep the number in each group between 6 and 11.

In order to send a conversation here, you have to have 10 posts. Even if you just post "Hi!" It will count. If you then send me a conversation by clicking under my name under Winnie the Pooh,my on can give me your cabin and the number in your cabin and if there are any allergies.

Deadline for CE is July 15.

Bobbi:)

PS. Aside from just saying Hi, you can tell a bit about yourself. I'm Bobbi, Hubby is Tom, we are both retired.

DH & I are going! He is Tom, I am Bobbi!

The Candy Exchange uses the Fish Extenders to pass along candy that is local to your community, or state or region. For instance, Life Savers originated in Cleveland Ohio! For the WBPC cruise, I gave a package of life savers to each person in each cabin in the exchange. Because I have a Cape May house, and I am from NJ originally, for one exchange we gave out 15 pieces of salt water taffy from Atlantic City to each cabin. One family from Nebraska gave out these delicious chocolates to the group:

For this year's MC I have decided on a different treat, one from Ohio!

If there are any questions, just ask in the thread. The amount to give is up to the giver. We will all know how many are in each cabin. Also, if you have any allergies, please mention that. I will be taking information such as allergies, how many in cabin, and most important your cabin number beginning next June or July. I will close the exchange July 15, 2015 to give people time to organize their gifts. As far as how much candy you will get. I have had success in keeping the numbers between 7 and 10 in each group. If you want more, then sign up for 2 groups. Oh yes, the candy should be wrapped by the factory for safety.

We were so busy with our move from the Midwest to Texas the past 6 months that we just now got around to seeing Maleficent ! Lots of catching up to do now that were settled in.....good luck with your move - hope it all goes smoothly !
Where in Texas did you move to. I am in Beaumont.

:cheer2:Guess who is going to Norway? That is right! I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In a secret Verandah room no less!!!!! Yeah :banana:I am so excited!!!! I picked the May Cruise out of Dover - it was a little cheaper than the June Cruise. I was so shocked my TA could get me a secret room! I had one for my Alaska cruise. Now I have to shop for some insurance - I so hate doing that! Just home from the dentist - have to get another root canal! #8. Stupid Teeth. Could be worse I guess.
Hope everyone is having a Great Day!

WELCOME to our New Cruiser!!!

Lynn

We stayed there in 2007 (before the villas and ate at Nappa Rose) it was great. Our youngest went back in 2012 with a couple of friends and stayed in the villas. She said, they were really nice. That is the same time I talked hubby into going on our first cruise.

Fort Worth about an hour west of Dallas. My daughter's family lived near us in Missouri but moved to Fort Worth to be closer to her husbands family and so we moved just 2 miles away from them. So far we are loving the mild winters and exploring a whole new area of the country !
