DVC Member Cruise ~ August 24, 2015

I wish I could join you all at TOTW Sunday - but have a dining ADR at 8 PM and doubt I will make it over before Wishes - But if we do get done before Wishes I will try and get over to join you all! I will make it to D lounge as I know I am not going to make the breakfast either. This makes me sound anti social - not the case = just bad timing on my part! I noticed last week that I miss counted a day on my tickets - not sure how the heck I managed that one - so I need to add a day to my tickets once I arrive. What is a pain is I can't book my fast pass for that last day until I add the day and I can't add the day until I get there - oh well - teach me to count better! I think I missed that day when I won the discussion over flying rather than driving and I forgot I gained a day! Can't wait to tour the parks in the August Sun! Yeah! I thought I said I would never do that again! If it gets too bad I will head to the pool. Disney pool or Disney Parks still better than being at home!
I have a sick doggie today -I keep having to jump up and let him outside! Not sure what is wrong - but wish I could leave him outside if you know what I mean! Someone will be eating rice and eggs tonight for dinner! Poor guy! Will call the vet tomorrow if this keeps up. I think he has doggie stomach flu. At least he doesn't act like he is sick - happy as always! He keeps thinking he gets a treat every time he comes in from outside and I keeps saying No and he just does not understand. He is like - I came to the door - I didn't chase anything or run off - where is my treat? (he is part beagle) - I am like - Yeah you were outside because you are sick - No Treat! he just nudges the container and says - hand me the treat and I say No - and walk off - and five mins later - we are outside again and start the process all over again. Craving a salad I guess since he keeps eating grass. He is taking a nap right now. He knows I am talking about him - he just gave me the look!

Lynn, we had an interesting ticket issue. We bought two 8 day non expiring tickets before they ended but in unpacking stuff from our move I found two very old 10 day non expiring tickets that I had only marked on them that we had used 6 days so when it came time to get our fast passes I put the numbers in (after several tries because the back didn't look like any of the ones they showed) and it said they were valid tickets ! So now we have three days left for our December trip! Debbie

This is our second member cruise. This time it's just the 3 of us: me (Allison), DW (Stasia), and DS (Nicholas) who will be 17 months. I'm hoping we can sign up for the Families Fish Exchange! PM on the way...
This is quite a big group (not surprising I guess)! It may take me a while to read through this thread... We'll be using our new Poly points for the weekend before the cruise, and maybe we'll see some of you there. We are doing B2B with the following 3 nt on the Dream (8/28). Any other B2B-ers?
Can't wait to get back on DCL!!!

Wishes is scheduled @ 10 PM on the 23rd, so Tom & I will head up to TTOTW by 8:30. Hope to meet some cruisers then!

Lol...we moved our dinner at Olivia's up once we figured that out. Eat, then beat it over there to meet up with everyone at TOTW. Can't wait. Hubby now wants to get in Saturday afternoon so we are trying to decide if we want to hop hotels or stay both nights at AKL. We were thinking about trying Port Orleans or Coronado for fun but may just tack on another night to our existing reservation.

Yay...so looking forward to pin trading!!!

I'm just bumping this up. Some of us will meet for lunch at Cabanna's on the sea day. Let's meet by the entrance that is by elevators around 11:50! I will bring some pins with me. Is anyone else interested in meeting for some pin trading, and or lunch?

Last year, I "goofed." They were having a DVC vs DCL cook off and I waited to see the end. By the time it was over 12:15 or so, I could not find the Disboard group. I was sorry, the cook off was not as good as meeting friends would have been!

Yay for pin trading! So much fun and I will have plenty on hand too.

Talk about a small world Bobbi and April. My aunt, her husband, and kids live in Dayton, OH. I lived in Iowa for 12 years before moving back to Florida and my daughter(who will be with me on the cruise) goes to college in St. Petersburg. I just kept laughing as I was reading your posts.

Our waitlist for BLT came through, so now DD and I will be there 2 nights before the cruise. Makes it a lot easier for going to TOTWL.

Where in IA? We were in Cedar Rapids on the northeast side. We lived there for 12 years too - 2000-2012.

We lived in Cedar Falls. 2002 - 2014 Now I've moved back home to Florida - definitely don't miss the winters!

Looking forward to seeing some of you on the ship. I have used this board mostly in the past for Ft. Wilderness info, we camp there a lot!
But I was so glad that he had researched the cabins as he was booking. At first we were going to be on Deck 10, but all the negative comments
on the noise below the pools and such, he went with 8. Now to find that post about the door decorating.....

SHHHH - I'm not supposed to know. But my husband is surprising me with this cruise (our 24th Disney cruise). I've had a long, hot summer teaching algebra to high school kids form 7 AM - noon for the last 6 weeks. YUCK. We finish up tomorrow and I have to return to school on July 22nd. Kids return on the 27th. We are on a modified year round schedule. We have 2 weeks off in October, December and March. Then we finish for the year right before Memorial Day. It's not as bad as it sounds.

I'm so excited because I have not been on a members' cruise is a long time. He had to get special permission for me to take a week off school (I teach physics) but somehow he did it. Now to act surprised when he tells me.

I did sign us up for the FE and I will dig up info on the candy exchange too. So, so excited!

If you would like to join the Candy Exchange, just PM your cabin number, how many in your cabin, and if there are any allergies we should know about. We use the Fish Extenders to give candy or snacks with a local or regional history, origin. Usually folks print something off the internet telling about the treat!

The number in each group will be between 6&11.
